I am looking into possibly driving 3 hours from NY to PHL to get a $94/one way airfare for 2 people. Plus, we would have to park our car there for 9 days, which would turn out to be $81 total, plus gas there and back. Do you think it's worth all the trouble and I am not really saving that much by driving all the way there and parking. Anyone have experience doing this??

I face the same, but considering switching from PHL to BWI. For a family of 5 we can save $200 on our flights. I need to consider tolls, gas parking. One thing we consider is park and fly options. Sometimes for a little more then long term parking you can go down the night before and stay at a hotel which gives free parking for the cost of your room. This is helpful when taking an early flight.

For us:
$12
$12 Tolls
$80 gas
$129 park and fly
-($60) park at PHL

For us the savings are not significant enough yet. If a ding fare comes out for BWI and not PHL, with a significant savings, then it becomes worth it. BWI gives an another alternative ding fare to look for.
