I don't even know where a trunk show would be, I haven't found a decent place to find a dress yet :/

Hmm..I'm not sure. I checked out the usual David's Bridal, Macy's, and check if there's independent bridal shops around you.

You can search for trunk shows and bridal shows on the knot. Trunk shows tend to be very specific towards one designer, so I'm not sure what works for everyone's budget/taste.
