I'm asking because I have friends in Italy who would love to buy shares but they have found it very difficult.
apparently only UK and French residents are able to apply to use the DLRP Actionairres discounts and benefits.
So if anyone on this board can offer any assistance with this I would be very grateful :goodvibes

:yay::yay: here here :yay::yay:
I am Italian AND a shareholder :thumbsup2
You are so right, it was very difficult.
At first i went to my bank (Monte dei Paschi) and asked someone - who didn't know either Eurodisney shares exist - how to do. I was given hundreds of papers to fill, i did, was sent to another office just to be told you can not buy shares in Paris for less than 1000 euros a time :scared1::scared1:
I came back home fuming :headache:
As my partner is English - and he still owns an english bank account - we tried to buy them via Natwest; we were sent papers to fill and send back, we did, then we were asked for more papers one of them being his Italian Bank account statement signed by the British ambassador in Italy :eek:

I was furious :furious: when something sprung in my mind  as i have read this here http://corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/faq/index.xhtml

- Bearer shares or Administered registered shares:
Contact your financial intermediary and explain that you wish to buy shares in Euro Disney S.C.A. The intermediary will give you all the information to place your order.
- Pure registered shares:
Please contact the agent named by Euro Disney S.C.A. to manage its registered accounts: CACEIS Corporate Trust.

so i sent an email straight to CACEIS CT-relation-investisseurs@caceis.com

*Dear Sirs,
my name is Giulia Pagni and i live in Siena - Italy, i would like to buy 20 shares of EURODISNEY SCA to join the shareholders club (i am planning to book a trip to DLRP asap) but it seems pretty impossible as my bank in Siena (Monte dei Paschi) told me i cant buy anything less than 1.000 euros shares in Paris and my partner is English and, even he still has a bank account there with Natwest, they dont sound very keen on dealing with him (they keep sending over forms and forms to fill).
Any chance that i can buy them from you and pay with my VISA?*

The very next day i got their reply:

I can not say since then everything went smoothly, my italian bank took about four days to send them money, as it was not possible to say *before* how much it would had costed me, i missed a few euros and had a job sending them because my bank said it was such a small amount of money it was not worth it but eventually...........I GOT MY SHARES CERTIFICATE!!

The whole thing took form Feb 24th 2008 to March 13th 2008.

Hope it helps!!

Here is the second one. ;)
I am German and in the Shareholderclub for over 6 years now.
It was very easy to buy shares in Germany. I just went to my bank and bought some. And then I sent the request form to DLRP and 4 weeks later I had the shareholders card in my mailbox. I have renewed my membership two times and that was also very easy.

I am also a shareholder. I am Dutch and in the Shareholders club for 2 years now.
It was very easy to buy shares in the Netherlands. We bought them by phoning the bank, no problem! :cool1:
Because we went to DLRP a few weeks after buying the shares we asked for an email (that we could use in the shops and restaurants) from the shareholders club where they explained that we were waiting for our shareholders card. They did send this email, but we also received our card in time (after 3 or 4 weeks). The shareholders club did answer our email after a few days, they are great!

Thank you so much for the replies.
My friends will be so pleased to hear that they should be able (with a bit of effort ;)) be able to buy some shares and enjoy the benefits that many of us here use on our trips.
Italy is a wonderful Country and has contributed so much to the European culture that we share that I hope we can forgive these inefficiencies !
I will point my friends towards this thread and hopefully they will find the information and reassurance they need to purchase their Eurodisney shares before the prices rise very much.

Feel free to ask me whatever your friends need or just want to know
Yes it needed a bit of effort but the day i was told from the nice man who answered my call to DLRP *oh i see you are a shareholder madam* was priceless :cloud9::cloud9:

I'm currently in the process of deciding if its worth buying shares myself, just wondering how long do they take to process sending you out the club card when you purchase it as I'm planning on going back to Paris in June and wondering if there is enough time left!

We received the card within 3 or 4 weeks. Was wondering the same at the time we bought our shares, we also had a few weeks before going to DLRP and got our card before we went.

I sent off my shareholders club application on 6th March, I have heard nothing back yet, either by email (I've sent 2 to them) or in the post. I suspect its taking longer than 4 weeks at the moment for them to process the applications :confused3.
