I sure hope that Danny hasn't abandoned the Dis. His information was a great help to me several times and I appreciated him greatly!

I agree MTT ... but I don't think it would be abandoning us ... He was treated pretty roughly by some people here.

He tried to do things in Danny style, post something in the morning saying that info would be coming that night, getting people alllll excited, who doesn't like to be excited !?!? And then someone else dropped the info in the thread, and then all hell broke ... and in the end they ended up flaming him in that thread and then starting another thread where they continued to flame him .... just was not cool.

I loved his info, he is the sole reason we got such a good deal on our trip in may. I booked a flight without even having the deal released, got a great deal on the flight, ended up booking our trip like a month later with the general public that Danny told us would be coming, exactly as he said it would be ...

Hope he is still around, and knows how many of us appreciate him.

Hmmm...Personally, if someone has something to say, or info to share, I would prefer they just do it! People already feel tortured by just waiting for the "leak" and to tell them you know something and then not share, is kind of selfish.

And come to think of it, he stated that Little Mermaid rooms were included in the September free dining offer and they were not. There were a lot of disappointed people who booked those rooms based on his information. He never mentioned the room only discount that was also announced at the same time. Many small families/couples were anxiously awaiting this news as this saves them more money than free dining. Point is, not one person gets all the info and not one person is always correct. Another person on Dis posted all the September info days before and not one person gave her credit.

I concur! I too posted what I heard from someone in upper management regarding why we go down each year and drop serious $ and never get a pin....I posted that the manager stated the next offer date release, not the details of....I came back to posters mocking me, judging me and putting zero credit behind my post.....some have posted in this EXACT thread!

Here's the skinny....I booked, pins came out for FD in Oct., an exception was going to be made to allow me to use said pin, then my hubby called nonsense....end result, we were given free dining.

I was told on the other thread "can't do it, disney rules"..... Regardless of the fact that ANY company can do what they choose to do....so I stated I was done there, I have free dining for Oct without a GP offer, without a DV offer, without a BB offer, and without a PIN.

People just aggravate me! Thanks for letting me vent and I too hope Danny isn't gone, but my gut tells me otherwise.

I believe you said June 17? If that is true, it will be this coming Monday. I don' t discount anything, but I would be surprised to see it so early. A couple more days and we will see for sure.

I am sorry you feel that way. My understanding is that no one discounted you received free dining, and that you were in deed told June17 by a CM. I believe you said you were told the June 17 date by the first CM you spoke with and I believe that is where some of the jousting came from. Never was it meant directly at you, but at the CM. We all have been told many "stories" by CM's and most are not true. For example, before Sept free dining was announced, a CM stated to one of us that there will be no free dining at all this year. And just as recently as yesterday, another individual was told by a CM that the next round of promo's will be released mid to late August and hinted at free dining. Another CM told one of us that no more PINs would be sent out and that was a few of weeks ago, and someone just received a snail mail one yesterday. The list could go on and on and on...

Simply not true. I stated that a CM then a shift manager had agreed to let me use someone else's pin.....then my husband intervened and his call was escalated to upper management.....VOILA we got free dining added to our reservation.

Then the posts came that read like, "yeah if you want to believe that.....I once had a CM tell me......don't put any weight on that"....with added rolling eyes emotions mind you....and so, since perception is 9/10 the law, I took it as mockery.

Now regarding the June 17......as I made my reservation, I asked about free dining and THAT CM stated the next offers are scheduled to be released 6/17/14.

Heck for all anyone knows, that offer can be a free Mickey ice cream with the $75 in park purchase. NOT ONCE did I ever indicate what it was or put weight in it.

I am sorry again that you felt that way and I apologize. I read those same posts and never once did I think they were referring to your free dining. I took them all as to referring to the CM that told you about the June 17 offer. I also do not recall anyone stating they were expecting that to mean Free Dining, however I do see how there might have been some confusion due to the fact that you posted on a Free Dining thread about the Free Dining you had just received. It is very easy to have misinterpretations when communication is one dimensional and I hope you are open to that possibility and we can put this behind us.

Interesting and sad the last couple of Danny threads have been derailed. Some facts are being skewed here, but will say the most important / best parts of his announcements were the certainty and precise timing of the offer releases. When he shared, you knew it was coming and when.
