Any Newfoundland owners out there?

my sons kindergarten teacher is a Newf owner. This past year when she was doing a unit on Lewis & Clark she brought in 3 Newfs to school as part of the presentation. A friend of hers brought in the adult dog to play Seaman (the Newf on the Lewis & Clark expedition). She also brought in her 2 puppies....both already over 100 pounds. The adult dog calmly walked around the room to let all the kids get a chance to pet him. The dog seemed to love it as much as the kids :)
They are beautiful. I only wish I had room for a dog as big as that.

rochester and new durham:) ...I was just at Barmakian's the other day...

Newfies also make great therapy dogs. My mil has 2 Newf's, one is a male and the other female....she's Sassy's sister (different mom....12 weeks apart) We got ours from a breeder in Missouri and she flew into Newark airport. What a trip that must have been!
Make sure you see the parents, look at the eyes...should be droopy and watch their walk. Since it's summer they should be blowing coats (shedding BIG clumps). Best of luck...your going to love being owned by a Newfie

I'm so excited...This is my first attempt at using MY digital camera (had it over two years, guess who uses it all the time...hint...NOT ME!!) AND..I get to show off my Mitch....
