Any new SSR owners having problems with Disney Store Discount?

We have used our DVC discount twice at the Disney Store and both times the clerk could not get the system to take it. They overrode it and gave us the discount regardless but not without a delay each time. The first time it happened to me and I called Quality Assurance and my guide and they said there shouldn't be any problem even if it is the temporary card. My poor DH had both daughters with him today and our almost 2 year old DD age attempted to destroy the store during the 15 minute delay in contacting DVC to help. Again, an override was necessary.

Does the temporary card have a different DVC number than the permanent card we will eventually get?

DVC keeps saying it should work. Is anyone else having this problem????

I was just at TDS today and didn't have a problem. The first two times I used it the CM had to get the manager but I think it was because the CM were new. I've been a member for less than a month and I have used my discount four times I think I am addicted. I can't wait until tommorrow when my new Mickey toaster gets put to use.

Our guide called us and said everything is correct in the system so it must be our local disney store doing something incorrectly. Try, try again... but next time without the kids.

Would you believe that I was there with my Mom tonight (she was buying all of the grandkids new PJs for Christmas Eve) and I forgot to use my discount?

I did remember to buy Disney Dollars for their stockings, though!

This time of year, alot of CMs in the stores are seasonal and will not be familiar with the DVC discount procedure. They will try to swipe it or put the number in. Dvc discount does not work that way; they will have to use a promo 10 disc code and it should work.

Good news!

Our guide, Susie, called today and said she was going to send a letter to our local store and explain how to do the discount. Also, she is going to send us a $50 dining discount to use during our next trip to make up for the inconveniences we had! I thought this was very nice.

We actually shopped on-line last night with the 20% discount offer (for everyone) just to avoid going through the hassle at the store. With shipping(and taxes), it about equalled our 10% discount at the store.

Now, we may try the store again, but I will give them a week or 2 to figure it out.
