Any new rumblings about 2013 promotions?

Yeah it kinda sucks for us Aussies as well. While the UK seems to get some good deals we get nothing! Only what the public offers are at the time on the WDW website. Cost of flights for us is approx. $7000! Two adults and three kids. So if free dining comes in we kinda think its worth the long flight but without it I think we will maybe look at returning later than we would like. But we have caught the disney bug badly and want to return.....come on 2012 discounts. Anyone been the first two weeks of December?

I have. Have also been the week after Thanksgiving. Both weeks were low crowds and since we are early risers the parks were like ghost towns for the first few hours after opening. I've heard that more and more people are starting to go at those times though so the crowds have probably grown but are still not as busy as a Holiday time.

I went last year from December 11-17 on a GP room discount of either 30% or maybe even 40%!! Sorry...my memory isn't what it used to be, and it was never all that good.

We live in the U.S. near the Canadian border, it takes us 8 hrs to get to Detroit, 24 hrs to get to WDW if we drive straight through. Airfare from small airports is crazy. I think our dollar is worth less than Canada's too. Living in the U.S. does not necessarily mean it's a less expensive vacation. That said, I am happy for anyone that can get a deal.

Anyone rented points? We are thinking that may be the better deal this time? Thinking bay lake tower and AKL a week of each. As they have one bedrooms that hold our required five. Thanks for all the responses!

Do you think the reason they haven't put out discounts for Fall 2012 is because the first phase of the FLE opening hasn't been announced yet? I'm guessing there won't be any discounts available that week?

We are going somewhere between Mid-September to the first week of October next year and I actually am hoping to avoid the FLE mess. I think it's going to draw big crowds at an otherwise quiet time of year.

There are just so many unknowns with planning this trip. GRRR!

A discount of some sort would be a good guideline for me to choose actual dates.

Any idea as to when it's scheduled? We're planning to be at WDW 09/19-09/14 2012.

Right now, the schedule is very vague. "Early 2012" to open the new Dumbo, the re-themed Barnstormer, and the new Fantasyland train station. "Late 2012" to open the new Little Mermaid ride, the Be Our Guest restaurant, and the Beauty and the Beast village and meet and greet.

I'm afraid my dates are pretty firm at this point, but I really hope we don't end up going during any openings!

I was sad that for 2012 the prices are so high! I priced out a package at ASMO with tickets, and dining and we are now renting points from a friend to stay at AKV jambo house with the dining plan and tickets from UT and it came out CHEAPER!!!! If this is the end of discounts we will be renting points from now on! Can you believe that?:confused3 $184.04 cheaper to stay at AKV over ASMO????

So... how do you go about retning points to stay at AKV?

I'm pretty much stuck for this trip since we've invited my cousin to come along and I don't want to put anyone on the couch, but if we do go back I think renting points is the way to ensure we save some money without worrying about discounts.

www.dvcrequest.com is the best website I've seen, although someone else might have another reccomendation.

Not to high jack the post but yeah it's gonna cost me about $2600 for the 10 days, 11nights at POP and 8 day park hopper and then about $3000 to just fly there and back. (No direct flights out of Winnipeg to Orlando). lol So I'd LOVE a discount or free dining. Cause I still have to pay for food and souvineers on top of those #s I just gave!
i booked 2 months ago for sept 2012, 10 days 10 nights at the pop No hopper with water parks n more, with deluxe dinning and it cost me $6995 !!!!!!
SO I AM DESPERATE FOR A DISCOUNT!!!!!

That doesn't sound right. How many people are going? Do you absolutely *need* to have the Deluxe dining? You could probably save yourself quite a bit by going down the the regular Dining plan. And if you're only there 10 days...I am assuming day 1 and day 10 are your arrival and departing days...maybe only 8 or 9 day park tickets? Just trying to help. :wizard:

I do hope that you guys either get PIN codes mailed to you or that Disney comes up with Free Dining for everyone.

It is an interesting theory that they might not have free dining in fall because of the FLE.

I am renting points from DH's coworker that is a DVC member. She checked availability on where we wanted to stay, and charged us $8.00 per point. We payed her directly for the room portion and added the dining plan on with our credit card. Don't know if this helps anyone? Renting points is not as scary as it seems...:thumbsup2

I agree--are you SURE you want Deluxe dining? Have you done it before? In order to be worth while financially, you basically have to be on vacation with the sole goal of eating. You have to have ADRs pretty much 3x a day which means your entire day, every day is running from one reservation to the next. The regular DDP is ONE reservation meal a day. This means for the rest of the day you can just relax. Deluxe is a good thing if you are going on a vacation focused on the food (sorta like going on a cruise, i guess) but if you have big plans to do a lot in the parks, I think Deluxe would just be a stress.

But that's just my opinion. Everyone has different views/experiences. If you've done it before and know you like it, go for it. But if you've never done it before, I really think regular DDP is MORE than enough food.

I think she needs 2 rooms also. But yeah I agree with the deluxe dining. If I needed to save some money that would be the first to go. We booked bounceback with FD for next year but stuck with the QSDP again. We go for 14 nights and just don't want to be tied down to alot of adrs. We still come out ahead paying op for 4 TS meals. hope everyone gets what they are looking for.

We are planning a trip in June 2012 from 6/8-6/16. We are planning to visit Universal, Legoland & a few days at WDW. Our trips are usually WDW only with an on-site resort (value or moderate w/discount). I have a list of potential hotels in DTD/LBV. We want to stay in our comfort zone. Plus if we stay at one of the DTD hotels I will feel like I am still in Disney. We wanted to use a WDW resort as home base because we enjoy them so much even if it is ASMO but I won't commit unless I receive a discount for a Disney resort. I agree when I see the room prices for 2012 I am:eek: I won't make any reservations until Jan/Feb because I know then all hotels will be starting to promote summer vacations.
