Any New Info on HHN Dates

I doubt anyone has heard anything difinitive but I am hoping that someone may know if the opening weekend for HHN will be the first weekend in October this year. I have 4 Airtran $25 off coupons and could book that weekend trip for DS and I for only $90 each roundtrip. We want to go the opening weekend for the AP incentives.

Nothing yet...Last year there were AP specials for the first two weekends. I don't know if Universal will do that again this year but it's something to think about in planning.

This is why I always book my hotel and air for the first full or second full weekend of October for the event. I know HHN will be held on 4 or 3 nights then.

If you are planning on attending the HHN event, then wait until the calendar goes up for the hard ticket event.

If you want a weekend get away with low crowds, the last weekend of September would be ideal for Universal.

The following week Sunday is added to the calendar for it.
The third week, Thursdays are added.
That's why I go Columbus day weekend.
I get 4 nights in a row then. I could not go and only attend 2 nights of HHN, I need more time than that there...

Because I'm taking DS out of school, we go for a long weekend for the Friday and Saturday night event with express passes. Everything is less expensive the opening weekend with AP and lower cost expense. I wish we could go for a week or even 4 nights for HHN and ! am green with envy! SW usually comes out with decent rates and if not, I have RRs to use so I think I will wait. It would have been a great deal to only pay $90 roundtrip though!

I usually get the Frequent Fear pass for all non-peak nights. Last year I went six times over the month and had meetings with a lot of DISers on several of those nights.

We will be at Universal 9/19 through 9/26. How likely will it have begun before we leave? I figured the last Friday in September would be opening night.

that's really hard for any of us to guess.
and if we gave you a wrong idea on when it would begin, you might get jason and freddie after us is hhn does not start in september this year.....

as it is for 2009, there will be 5 weekends for HHN.
i don't know if they would start sept 25, it seems too soon. but, we won't know until more info comes out in the late spring or early summer.

i think everyone will know sometime in june. that's just my guess for now.

Where did you hear 5 weekends? When I was told that it is tentatively scheduled to start the first weekend in October (10/2). (I was told this when making a room reservation for the first weekend in September. When the TM heard I was planning my trip based on HHN, she told me the tentative dates on their bulletin board has it starting 10/2.) The TM also told me it usually runs 6 weekends and that they always have the weekend after Halloween as the last weekend. That would make 6 weekends. Wonder if they may be looking to cut back because of he economy. Hope not because the event is already very busy on weekends. One less weekend will push more guests into the remaining 5 weekends. Wish I could go for longer than a long weekend to take advantage of the less crowded week nights.
