Any New Info about the Disney Treasure?

The only recent example we have from DCL is the Dream class. They made some pretty significant changes to the Fantasy based on feedback from the Dream, then went back and updated the Dream, too. Don't be too surprised if they do the same thing with the Triton class ships.
Sorry if this skews the thread. But I wasn’t into cruising at this time. What were the changes made to the fantasy based on feedback?

I assume it was the tweaks mentioned in this article comparing the Dream and Fantasy? None of these seem like major differences in the first place FWIW.
Satellite Falls was a huge change. When the Dream first came out, the Quiet Cove pool was overrun with people, CM's were bringing loungers down from the upper deck and putting them around the walking areas around the pool because people were requesting them.

Got to agree with this. The changes were not significant. I would expect the same when comparing the Treasure to the Wish.

Right, Satellite Falls was the big change. One of the complaints about the Dream was that the adult-only area was too small and too crowded when compared to the older ships. So, Disney turned an empty deck into a new adults-only area and it made a big difference. They might do something similar with the Treasure since one complaint about the Wish is that the adult-only area feels too small and doesn't have enough water and shade.

Don't discount the smaller changes, though. A lot of the complaints about the Wish are about things like the size and theming of the bars and lounges, for example, and that's definitely something that could change for the Treasure.

I wouldn't expect an uninterrupted walking track on deck 4, though. That's probably not possible without substantial structural changes. We'll have to settle for the three-deck promenade with access to the bow. Maybe they can find a way to close the loop, though!

It might have a huge impact, but it seems like a small tweak as a % of the boat that was changed. If there are similar types of changes that the Treasure can make (i.e. low cost, easy for Meyer Werft to implement at this late stage, and obvious positive impact), I would expect they'd make the change.

One of the issues I have with Triton class based on the Wish, I don't think they'll have the same opportunity to have this much impact. Among other things, they definitely need a pool with more than 18" of water for adults only, IMO of course. The only thing I could identify as a possibility were the Donald's and Goofy's pools and making them adult only and putting a bar service area in there. Unfortunately that's the main deck show area so I don't think that would work. Beyond that it would seem they'd need to take away some of the upper area of Hero Zone to expand the adult area.

Would definitely love a closed loop. I also wonder about that large bow area that seems to have quite a bit of wasted space - could that be an additional adult area?

Anyone hope they aren't waiting until Destination D23 to release details?
There's going to be a panel about DCL: Disney Cruise Line: 25 years of Innovative Design at Sea - Get an inside look into designing and building Disney Cruise Ships from the Disney Imagineers currently working on its newest fleet. Learn of the intricacies that go into designing unique spaces and the complexities of ship design.

Why do you want Disney theming at every venue? I think it's better without all the Disney Theming you see on the Wish. I like how the older ships used Disney theming in subtle ways.

Hi WorldCruiser, for us the Disney theming of the Wish just makes it so much more immersive and unique and fun for the kids and us and feels like the entire point of stepping away from the ordinary world and into a Disney cruise. Especially now that we have recently really looked hard at trying some other cruise lines we see the immense value and fun in the Disney theming done on the Wish. I spent a lot of time on the Fantasy and Dream prior to the Wish and loved those sailings but feel like the Wish really upped the game of Disney theming for their cruise line. It feels like a greater experience to step into a different world rather than just subtle touches. Especially with having kids it is just so much more immersion. We just did Wish for the 4th and with Arendale they just really knocked it out of the park. I would love to see Enchanted Garden on Dream/Fantasy updated to something similar. But for us the theming does not feel overdone it feels right on mark. All those Disney characters and Disney stories is the value and specialty that Disney has to offer and they need to use it. I still love the Dream and Fantasy "as-is" and would highly recommend it and choose it over other cruise lines.

Side note as some others mentioned; we saw this week on Wish they were changing the elevator buttons from the buggy touchless over to physical buttons

I feel like stepping into the original four ships is stepping into a different world of escapism. The disjointed themes of the Wish seem hectic and incoherent… not relaxing at all …

Disney is themed entertainment for some of us … not just cinematic characters … a cohesive theme and story across the Dream and Magic class ships to me is more “Disney” and the Wish is something I would have expected from Universal …

I think there needs to be a balance and the first four do a better job at that.

There is no doubt you are with Disney. Characters are everywhere, there are Disney references, music in common areas, etc. However, it doesn't feel like a real life Disney commercial and it's done in a way that isn't too overpowering. You can get away from that easily if you want to.

On the Wish, it's all Disney all the time, or so it seems. IP's are everywhere and they make no mistake about it. I think this is the way the company as a whole is going. Which I get from a business perspective, but it might turn off some people, especially on the cruise line.

I couldn’t say it any better

Agree with what you are saying overall … from a business perspective I’m not sure. I think that remains to be seen. They have a proven track record that they seem to want to be verge off from in the name of synergy. Harmonious was an example of that … we see how that went … I don’t think the Wish is performing as they have expected. They are quietly discounting it and feedback hasn’t been all glowing as they had hoped. I hope they “right the ship” with the Treasure and #3 Triton class. If not, I’m perfectly happy to continue sailing on the original four ships … I guess that’s why they make chocolate and vanilla …

This is interesting what different people think. I didn’t feel I was on a Disney Ship when at The Rose or Nightingales. Maybe my getting away is no kids and that was actually better on my Wish cruises

I guess it depends on what you see as “Disney”. Is it an overt movie theme or just overall theming and service/quality …. for me it’s the latter. I think Remy on the Fantasy is a great example. Remy is obviously a movie character but if you didn’t know, it is just an excellent restaurant with beautiful decor and service. The Art Noveau design fits perfectly with the overall ship. Perfectly “Disney” …

Royal Court is also my example of Disney Theming. Not overt but could be normal restaurant

Agree …

Some of the details I love, if you look around the lobby of the Dream there are many pieces of Art Deco art of different lobbies / buildings done in the Art Deco style, including the Dream lobby. Subtle and brilliant theming … the layers are rich and classic “Disney” without having to be tied into the latest animated feature.
