Well, Southwest just published fares from Providence to Orlando for $94 each way. They have flights available for our dates and there are non-stops available. Anyone know if this is the lowest I can expect, or will it maybe go lower a little bit later? Really trying to do this trip on a budget, and EVERY little bit helps.

Thanks in advance for all your good advice!

It depends on when your trip is.

We always fly from PVD; we like the airport and parking so much better than any other airport. I'm looking for good airline tickets from PVD to MCO in Sept.

I've gotten prices from $200 to $240, from different airlines. But I"m waiting until early July at least before I book anything. What I"m really hoping for is approx. $150 per person round trip. I've had that price in teh past (and almost always get below $200/pp), so that's what I'm hoping for.

However, we're willing to fly any airline out of PVD, not just Southwest, so depending on how soon your trip is, and your flexibility for a different airline, may want to grab those tickets at $200 each.

If SW lowers teh airfare (if you see a better price on teh same flights later) you may be able to get the difference back as an airline credit. Depends on teh circumstances most times.

For me, I'm willing to wait (at least until early July) to see if the prices drop even further. I'm also taking a chance that the prices will increase, but that's a chance I"m willing to take, esp if I can get flights at under $200 per person.

My two cents - your decision will depend primarily on your with the risk that the price will increase.

Even if there is a fare sale later, discounted fares may be sold out for the non-stops and weekend flights. Wait if you're willing to be flexible on stops and flights otherwise book now.

That's a good fare. Prov. and Manchester usually run about the same price. We got MHT for $85 a ticket for our May trip. The price started at $99 and then dropped twice before ending up at $85. Book it. If the price goes down, they will credit you towards another trip. Non-stop can't be beat. We always fly SWA to MCO.

I say book it, too. They definitely give you a credit if the price goes down, but you have to be the one to notice it.

Also, in case anyone doesn't know. SW has a great ff program call rapid rewards. You need 16 points for a free ticket. Their free tickets have very few restrictions and not a limited # of seats like others. If you book online you get two points per segment (each way), book by phone, only 1 point each. They offer a credit card (tied into your rreward act) and when you are approved, you get 4 points automatically, then 1 point for every $1K charged. I don't know interest rate. There are also lots of other ways to get points, some car rentals, hotel stays are transferrable (Hilton & Marriott that I've used). Before you know it you're up to 16 points. Worth checking into if you fly a lot.
