I've been waiting to get my AP because I thought there was a DVC AP offer possibly coming out in Jan. Any word on this?? I'd rather save some money on the pass if I could!

I haven't seen anything but I really wasn't looking too hard for it. I purchased the PAP voucher when it was offered but didn't activate it until this past September. If your PAP is still active, you can renew at the DVC rate. You can downgrade to an AP without losing the ability to get the renewal price. The cost would be about $420 with tax. That's just south of the $425 that we paid for the PAP vouchers in 2012 but it would still be better than the cost of a brand new AP at $495.

True, but my renewal date was Dec. 23rd...I *think* I could wait until Memorial Day weekend to go into the parks (DH has a pass and can take the kids in between now and then). I think paying for the new pass would make more sense in that case?? I was really holding out for a Jan. DVC offer since I'd heard rumors about it on the disboards and Jan. was close to my renewal date.

The last I heard the rumor was that it was coming in December. Obviously that didn't happen. I believe its just wishful thinking/hoping rather than a real likelihood.

It depends. Will you visit WDW between Jan.-May 2015? If not, it really won't be an advantage to purchase an AP on Memorial Day weekend instead of renewing now. The AP would go unused during that extra time period. It would be smarter to renew now and save yourself the cash.

Look at it this way - you can renew now for $420 ($526 for a PAP) or you can spend $495 ($621 PAP) in May. If you renew, then your pass will expire Dec 23, 2014. If you don't, then you won't be able to visit between now and Memorial Day of this year, but you will be able to do so during the same timeframe in 2015. It really will depend on what you anticipate when your visits will occur over the next 18 months.

We live locally so we just go whenever, but DH has a pass so he can take the kids into the parks when we go. I don't mind skipping it for now...I have a Sea World pass (as do my DH and kids) so we could always go there instead. Last year's offer got me hopeful...wish they'd run that offer again!
