just curious if there is any new disney news on add'l priviledges due to # of points????? popcorn::

TYIA ;)

What do you mean by "priviledges"? Are you referring to "perks"?

Nothing has happened since the surveys that were sent out this past summer.

In fact the surveys were full of "what ifs" and not much else.

The current list of perks is always on the member website.

Also, sorry if I've misunderstood your original question, but the perks are not related in any way to the number of points that you have. If you're a member, you get the same perks whether you have 25 points or 500 points.

Apparently, DVC sent out one of their surveys to some members asking if they'd be in favor of some type of tiered perk system based upon number of points owned. There have been a handful of sporadic posts about the survey.

It would be interesting to know what the response was. Given the current economy, I don't think a tiered scheme would help drive increased sales, it would drive more people to resales. But maybe in a better economy it would increase sales.

Tiered benefits are not unheard of in the timeshare industry, I don't know if I'm in favor of the idea or not. I guess it depends upon the perks offered, what the point levels would be, and how it would impact existing members.

Oops, I missed that discussion. Interesting. I can't decide how I'd feel about a tiered benefit system, either.

Its very doubtful that if DVC would add a "perk" system based on the number of points owned would lead to "driving" members away. Pure speculation and assumption on your part. The fact that almost "all" companies from your grocery store, to credit card, to Best Buy, to rental cars, etc.....offer "perks" and rewards for their most loyal customers.

If anything, adding a benefit would increase loyalty to DVC.
