Any rumors or actual news on it closing down for a rehab? I know the dates were posted here but now I can't find them. If I go in Sept. I'll avoid those dates even if there's even a chance it might be closed.

What are they going to do, make it look MORE run down, neglected and seedy?

I got a call yesterday (7-16) from the WDW Resort in response to a scathing email I sent them last week concerning rehabs. The lady who called me said that the only refurbishment on the books as of right now is the BTMRR. I told her that the MGM website was listing the ToT rehab, and she said that she spoke personally with management, and that information is false.

SO..now I don't know what to believe...I will keep my fingers crossed about ToT, but I'm still skeptical. Any thoughts?

Did she give you a date when Big Thunder Mountain would be under rehab? I'm going during what seems to be "REHAB WEEK" at WDW - September 6-13. It seems like they would have posted this on their web page by now if it's gonna happen in September. Please Disney, at least let it still be open during the Nights of Joy... if I have to leave the park at 6:00 PM on my first day there because of a Christian rock concert the least they could do is let me ride my favorite MK ride!!!

I'm going end of Sept. Should I be worried??????
I keep hearing about all these rides down. That might as well shut the parks.

...just go to the Technical Board and click on there. At (or near) the top is a thread called "Get your Countdown Timers Here", or something like that. It will give you step-by-step instructions on how to do it!;)
BTW, WELCOME TO THE DIS!!

I sent an email to disney also and called them directly concerning the rehab for BTMRR and they told me they don't have this listed:rolleyes:

Mscott, did they give you dates for when the CM told you it is on the books to be refurbished?

The Tower of Terror rehab was listed in the CM directory, along with the Animation tour rehab. My guess is it hasn't been announced officially, so if you call, the phone operators can't give you the information or don't have access to it. My info comes from a CM who works at the Studios, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see :)

I actually said up fo r3 hours looking for the Countdown link and found it before your reply thanks though.

Secound I called disney and the operator says when a refurbish is not listed it means 2 things
1. its not happening and just a rumor
or
2. Its still not confirmed so they can't say yet so I say all us sept people call and complain and threating to go to universal this year instead.

We are going in Sept too and of course there will be disapointment if rides are not running but my question is...why send Disney nasty emails? I mean things have to be closed at some point for upkeep or what have you-I mean if they closed in now people for July and Aug would be upset....just try to go and ENJOY what Disney is and not what it isnt. That is just my opinion....NOT meant to ruffle feathers....I am looking at the FUN I will be having in Disney in Sept not the negative......

Mickey 1, I agree with you, just go and have fun, I am going in September and if TOT is down for rehab, OH Well! There are plenty of other things to do.
I find it very hard to believe that WDW would change the rehab schedule because people called and complained or sent e-mails, if that was the case no rehabs would ever get done, because no matter what month they were scheduled there would be people that would be upset.
Before the internet, you went to WDW and you went on whatever was opened and you got the park hours when you got there.
Too much information can be a bad thing sometimes

I know.....before the internet you went and what was there was there...I think there can be a thing of over planning.....no one will be happy all of the time....I am thankful for just going and being able to enjoy myself!! If you spend the time complaining for worrying about something not being open you close yourself off to all the fun!

My problem is I can only go when crowds are low so I don't appreciate all the good things down when I go. Let the good things go down in the summer as well for once.

I just got this email response from Disney about the possibility of Big Thunder Mountain being closed from Sept. 6-13...

"We appreciate your interest regarding attractions undergoing refurbishment. In order to provide the most current information, we advise that you visit the following page on our website:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wa...ndMoreFAQGrping

Then click on "What attractions are currently closed?"

"There has been no announcement about refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain at this time. "

(Emphasis Mine)

Doesn't give me much of a comfort feeling. Oh well. I really can't do much about it I guess...

And I sent them a very polite email by the way...
