Any Military Personnel out there - I have a question!

It is my understanding that the Military gets discounted theme park passes - can you purchase the discounted passes at your local base? If not, where do you purchase them? Thanks

We purchase them at Rec Services on base. You can also purchase them at WDW--used to be at Shades of Green--not sure where they've moved now.

The SOG has taken over the North Garden Wing at the Contemporary until the SOG expansion is complete. You can purchase tickets in the SOG office located in the North Garden Wing (3rd Floor I believe).

I know that upon researching it is a few dollars cheaper on tickets at the ITT office on NAS Jacksonville, than it is at Shades of Green, for us we are driving and come right past Jax to get there so it isn't out of the way, if it is out of the way for you it wouldn't be worth it. Shades of Greens phone number is (888) 593 2242 Disney Tickets for 1 day and 4 day hoppers are listed at the phone # as....

1 day pass

Adult $46.50
Child $36.75

4 day hopper

Adult $ $185.
Child $ 147.

You will have to call for any others that is all I have written down. I have done TONS of research on military discounts for Orlando and there are ALOT out there, dinner shows, theme parks so you may want to do some digging on the internet. Best of Luck!

So we should be able to get tickets at any local base such as Fort Hamilton in NY? Wonder why the diffrence in price?

Heres the deal... you should be able to purchase discount military tickets from your local ITT office MWR extention. You can only get 1 day discounted passes at ITT office locations within 100 miles of the park you want tickets for. For example... NAS Jaxs for Disney or universal ect. So any Florida base will do for 1 day passes which includes shades of greens ticket office located on the disney property. Sometimes if you talk nice to your ITT employee they can often special order items for you. My neighbor in housing works for ITT and said they could do that. I know atleast for Navy you can visit www.mwr.navy.mil and there are links to MWR ITT sites with phone numbers I am not sure though if you can order the tickets by phone... Hope that helps...

My parents are with the Air Force at McGuire AFB.

They gave me a while back a paper with the Local ITT office listings. Once I can find it (sorry!) I can give you the list.

I do remember the hours of the office were pretty bad, and the office never answered the phone the times I attempted to call.

They were only one to two dollars difference than ticketmania, though. To me, the one to two dollar difference was well better than trying to reach my parents, giving them cash, waiting for my parents, picking them up, paying the gas/tolls to get them as well.... (they live in another state, so it was challenging to find a time to get together with everyone's working schedules.)

Your price for discount is always going to depend on your location, you pay no taxes with ITT tickets, the ability to purchase your tickets at the discount on location at Disney at Shades of Green will always remain an option. Always remember, When you purchase your tickets through MWR/ITT's you are supporting yourselves. These programs offer alot to military familys and you are helping widen the selection every time you use them. These programs are demand based, the more they are used the more options become available.
