HI, We got a good deal at the GF in WDW for 3 nites in July. MY DH was Active Duty this past Jan. And I was wondering if Universal Hotels were offering anything for the Military this Summer?? thanks, Joan

Joan,
I was checking into this too, since my nephew (who is active duty) might be joining us on our upcoming trip. According to the website http://www.baseops.net/marketplace/

The Universal Resort Hotels are now offering ACTIVE military members a discount of 40% off of rack rate for Sunday-Thursday nights and 20% off of rack rate for Friday/Saturday nights during the following 2004 date ranges:
January 6 - February 12
April 18 - June 10
August 15 - September 30
November 28 - December 23
Active Military members must ask for the Military discount when calling our reservation center (800-Be-A-Star) and show active military ID at the front desk at check in.

Oh, I should also say that ticket discounts are available too according to the website:
For year-round ticket discounts all active duty, retirees, National Guard and Reserves may purchase tickets at any base ITT office. Or they may wait until they get to Orlando and contact the MWR office at the Orlando Navy Exchange at 407-855-0116. Order your military discount tickets via the phone. Simply contact Commander, Navy Region, Southwest at (619) 767-6000. Your tickets will arrive via the U.S. mail within 7 business days. Overnight service is available for a nominal fee.

FOR MILITARY GROUP INFORMATION OR OTHER ASSISTANCE CONTACT:
MILITARY SALES - UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD
(818) 622-8583.
I hope this helps!

Thank You Snoozn. Our dates fall in July so no discount for us! I booked months ago and NO discounts were available with Ent.Book. Fan Club or even an annual pass rate. (I would have purchased one if the discount was good enough!) So we have 3 nites at HRH FULL PRICE and now I hear about the changes to FOTL! And I am not too happy.:( So I will be cutting it down to 2 nites. I would cut it all together and just stay onsite at WDW but we already have tickets to Universal. (I got the 5 for 4 MC deal about a month ago.) I really feel that Universal has pulled a BAIT and SWITCH routine with changing their FOTL policy for JUST JULY!! I wonder how FULL their hotels will be next July with this change being pulled on us at such a late date??? Joan
