Any May POPers out there?

I am going the week before you - May 2-9th and staying at POP! I haven't stayed there before, either. I hope we like it!

My wife and I and our grandson have stayed there twice. We found it clean and a great-sized room for the three of us. You can buy the Pop Century mug ($12?) and refill it as many times as you want during your stay. The self-serve cafeteria-style restaurant area has a variety of made-to-order and packaged food at reasonable prices.

The DisneyWorld transportation system is great! We don't rent a car while we're there. Pop Century is the first stop for the Magical Express from the airport, and the last stop going back home.

Pop Century is big enough that the busses are non-stop from Pop to MK DS AK and Epcot. The water attractions from Pop are more round-about.

If you go to the far north-end of Pop at night (past the top of the bowling pin swimming pool) you can see the Epcot fireworks in the distance.

We liked it so much, we're staying again in March.

We will be staying at POP May 2-10. It's our first time to Disney - we are all soooo excited!

That is great to know that POP has a good transportation system. We really didn't want to rent a car/van since their will be 11 in our group (going with extended family).

Does everyone else going in May have all their dining ADR's made?

Yup!!! Here is our ADRs:

10th-Dinner at Yac and Yetti

11th-Dinner at Tony's Town Square

12th-Dinner at Ohana

13th-Breakfast at Kona, Dinner at Coral Reef

14th-Lunch at SiFi Dine In

Great choices! We picked alot of the same ones. We called at 89 days out and got all of the ones that we wanted - we had to settle for the middle show at Hoop-Dee-Doo (we wanted the early show) but that is okay, no big deal.

May 2nd - Hoop-Dee-Doo (dinner)
May 3rd - Chef Mickeys (breakfast) Crystal Palace (late lunch)
May 4th - T-Rex Cafe (dinner)
May 5th - Coral Reef (lunch)
May 6th - Hollywood & Vine (breakfast) Sci Fi Drive In (late lunch)
May 7th - 1900 Park Fare (dinner)
May 8th - Cinderella's Castle (breakfast) Ohana (dinner)
May 9th - Kona Cafe (breakfast) Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)

The only one that I was unsure about was Ohana. Have you tried it before? Did you like it? Is Lilo & Stitch at dinner as well?

I'm also going to call & try to get in at the BBB (with both my girls), The Princess Tea Party (with both my girls), and Horseback Riding (with my oldest daughter & nephew)..... just trying to work that into our schedule.

No there wasn't Lilo and Stitch, but there was this one time where this lady came out with leis and had all the kids follow here to get one! was fun to watch! of course i got a lei too! Oh the food was soooo GOOD! you'll LOVE it! We had to wait a while wich was kinda a bummer but the hotel had so much to see! And they would buz you when your table was ready! Another cool thing was you coud watch Wishes from the window! But anyways, you made the right choice to go! That's why we're going again!:woohoo: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :goodvibes

were 2 time POP'ers and we love it.
we've enjoyed walking around the resort to read all the theming on the buildings.

PP mentioned that POP is perfectly scheduled on the magical express route... shhh!:cool2:

one of our favorite memories of POP was when we were in the dining area, suddenly the music volume ramps up as "The Hustle" starts playing, coinciding with that apx. 20 CM's lined up and started doing "the hustle" our DD7 (at the time) joined in for the entire performance. anytime i hear that song now, i'm back @ POP!

nothing concrete yet, but tentatively *scheduled for 5/29~6/6 (D_DAY)

We will be there May 23 - 30. We are excited and can't wait. We have never stayed there before but have heard good things.

We're doing a late dinner at O'Hana on the 12th also. It's my b'day.

We've stayed at the POP 3 times now and will be going back in September. We like it here and it fully meets the needs of our family. We do not rent a car and use the Disney transportation system which we find to be very convenient. There is a large selection of food in the food court and we have yet to try something that we didn't like. The refillable mugs are $12.99 and you can get soda and slushies (which my son prefers). The rooms are always clean and our requests for bed rails, extra pillows, etc, have always been met promptly. I'm sure that you all will have a great time at the POP.
