We just decided to try Marrakesh in Morocco for dinner on this upcoming trip! Has anyone dined here, and if so, what did you think???:genie:

I'd like to know this, too. I want to try something new! TIA!

:wave2:

I went a while back for lunch and it was really good. The chicken bastilla, beef brewat rolls, jasmine salad, and mint iced tea were really, really good. I think I had chicken kabobs as the main dish and that was pretty good too, but the plainest of everything I had. Looking forward to returning. Also, the belly dancing entertainment is fun; she will go around the restaurant trying to get people to dance with her.

We went for dinner last summer and it was YUMMY!!!!!!! It's my fave Epcot restaurant by far... The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, away from the crowds, service was good, food was plentiful and unique (and delicious!), and the belly dancer and band were entertaining! I was really impressed!

I really enjoyed it. Although it was not necessarily what I would eat everyday, the selection while being very unique (chicken/beef with sugar and cinnamon) was also very good. I will definately go back.

Here's my review of Marrakesh...it's the first one I did, and a bit rough, and I hadn't started taking pictures yet, unfortunately.

Thank you so much for writing about your experiences!

forever42-- great detailed review. Definitely sounds like a place I wanna try!

Thanks everyone for your reviews so far! It seems like everyone was pleased with their experience at Marrakesh.

I looked up the menu at Deb Wills site, and the offerings sound very good, even for a picky eater like myself. DH really wants to try something new and different. After so many visits to WDW, we have tried many restaurants, but never Marrakesh.

Any other reviews?::yes::

Restaurant Marrakesh is my favorite restaurant in WDW; maybe even in the WHOLE world!

The atmosphere, quality of food and entertainment make the overall dining experience outstanding (and VERY moderately priced).

We especially enjoy eating foods that are different from what we can easily find every day (and living near NYC, it's not so easy to find unique experiences - yes, we are great big food snobs). You should difinitely give it a try. Hey, if you don't care for it, no big whoop; not much of an investment at all.

Does the dancer relly ask for volunteers? That sounds like a lot of fun. I would definitely love to volunteer and entertain the rest of the patrons. I better work on my abs.

Please try! I'd LOVE to see him get up and dance--moving his manly belly around in front of everyone. Man, would he turn red! :p

I have been to Marakesh a few times and really love the atmosphere and the food I have had. I always go at lunch and get the Sultan's Sampler which has changed over the years but always includes the stuff I like.Chicken Bastilla, Beef Brewat Rolls, Chicken or beef brochettes (Kababs) rice and cous-cous. My elderly father tried a lamb dish and jasmina's salad and some soup and really liked it. My Mother and middle aged sister didn't care for the food much. Both are fairly picky eaters. Serivce is always good. My only complaint is that sometimes some of the food is not as hot (temperature not spice) as it should be.

OK-AESALSA--I accept your challenge! I am going to steal your studmuffin hubby away from you faster than you can say navel!!!

daannzzz-- Thank you for your review across generations! The Sultan's Sampler sounds like a winner!

HairyAriel--LOL--TOO FUNNY!! OK then! You see my counter? We'll be in WDW for 10 nights starting that night. I still have to wait for the 90 day mark to make the PS for Marrakesh. . .:teeth:

Off of Debs site:

Royal Feast - Assorted Moroccan salads, Chicken Bastilla, Seafood Bastilla, Roast Lamb Meshoui, Lemon Chicken, Couscous with Seven Vegetables and Crepes Atlas $29.95 per person

This is what I had (above) and below are my very favorites from it...I loved the two Bastilla's and the Roast Lamb was awesome...I didn't care for the Lemon Chicken at all...and I just love CousCous so that was good too!

I highly recommend this restaurant, it is on our MUST DO list for Nov!!

Chicken Bastilla - Baked layers of thin pastry stuffed with minced chicken and almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar $5.95

Seafood Bastilla - Baked layers of thin pastry stuffed with grouper, shrimp, mushrooms, vermicelli, onions and egg $6.95

Roast Lamb Meshoui - roasted lamb in natural juices $22.95

StaceyA-- Thanks for posting that along with the prices! The Royal Feast sounds like a lot of food; can two people split that? How are the crepes? TIA!

Im not sure on the splitting, when I went, we were on the silver package with wishes, so our food was included.....
I did leave alot of the chicken on the plate, but I wouldn't say it was a huge portion, but if they let you split it...it would be enough for two.

THe crepes were awesome....(Crepes Atlas - apple crepes with cinnamon topped with ice cream and almonds - $5.95 )

Maybe someone else might know if you can split it, at the most I would just think they charge a plate fee.

Ohh yeah and the Mint Iced Tea was really good!
As you can tell, I loved it there!!
