Any Magic Halloween Cruisers 2003 out there?

The way I understood it was that those with children would be going TOT but, would run ahead when it came close to their stateroom to hand out goodies. I could be wrong though, I often am.

Perhaps mine is the only family that has yet to receive our documents. Went through a TA this year who now says that the cabin we've had for the past 2 years will not be available (not yet completely rehabbed?). Anyhow, we'll be in #6646 instead of 5624, she says our documents were prepared today and will be receiving them soon. By the way, I'll be leaving the hubby in the cabin for treat distribution while I take son, Robert, out for tricks.

Okay, I had a cute idea while i was at work tonight. Would it be okay with everyone if I made up nametags? I was going to make wooden Mickey heads with pin backs and paint them lime green. Not sure if I'll write names on them or just have the pins and markers available at the meet and greet. Let me know what you think.

You're very nice to offer making name tags Carolyn! It certainly would be fine by us. Plus, I get the extra added bonus of knowing where to look when I forget my name.

Sounds like a very nice idea!

Carolyn123, I think that's a fun idea. I was going to wear a Mickey Paint Chip from Home Depot (alien green!) :bounce:

Tiff, I was confused a while back and asked Ginger the same question. At first, I was also thinking there were only about 6 cabins giving out treats. Then I was told that all cabins would be participating. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can go treating, then when you get close to your own cabin you can run ahead a greet everyone (unless of course you've already assigned a greeter to stay in the cabin.) Hopefully we can get a firm answer on this.

paulmc80, if you've answered this already, sorry I missed it. Why is your DW so far away? Is she in the military?

Hi all:

Didn't realize Ginger was out of town. I pm'd her about my situation but since I don't know when she will be back to update the T&T list, I thought I better post to the board.

Regretfully, my family has to bow out of the T&T'ing for medical reasons. (I won't bore you with the details).
:(

That brings the count down to 39 and takes cabin 6022 off the list. Sorry to have to do this but it's unavoidable. Hope you will all understand.

We are getting so excited for our very first Disney cruise adventure. It has been so fun getting to know so many of you through this board. It feels like I have friends onboard already even though we have yet to set sail!

Carlotta

Carlotta, I won't pry but, if the medical reasons involve no sweets, please know that some of us are giving things instead of sweets. We would love to have you and your children join us.

Hi guys. As Emma posted yesterday, our documents are here but not those for DH and DS's. Hopefully they will arrive today.

We did the Dis T or T last year and the way it worked was that all kids went round with one parent if they were small (older ones like mine just attached to the group as there were plenty of adults to supervise). The adults either left one person in the room to greet or ran ahead as they neared their room. Ginger had worked out a sensible order for going round so you knew when you needed to scoot ahead.

Carolyn, great idea. Thank you.

Off to lie in wait for the UPS man!

Karen

Well if the docs are likely to be coming today then it really will just be my mum and I going because I'm not answering the door in my pyjamas! I could always get dressed I suppose.

Reading this thread sometimes makes me feel like I might just spontaniously combust with excitement. 3 weeks today I'll be on my way to the airport!

I was just getting dressed when there was a knock at the door so I ran downstairs in my pyjama bottoms and white school shirt thinking it would be our docs but no! It turns out it's some boring looking parcel for my dad.

Emma and Karen- I hope the rest of your DOCS come soon!

We are heading to NYC for the weekend. We are taking the twins and some friends sightseeing. When we get back I HAVE to start getting my things together for the cruise!! I also HAVE to stop eating so I can fit into my clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only age group for ToT I was going to give something different to was 4 and under. This was mainly due to the whole "choking" thing. I was always paranoid about that with my twins when they were younger.

Is the ToT Disney offers on the ship a nightmare?

Lauren

Zitofamily - I'm sorry to hear that you won't be participating in the TorT. If it is a food problem I'm sure that we could all work around it. My nephew has severe peanut allergies and I know that Halloween can be a nightmare for my sister-in-law. We always make sure we have a peanut free treat for him. Rachel is really looking forward to meeting Caitlyn. We'll see you at the Radisson.

Carolyn1023 - Your name tag idea is really very nice!

To all participating in the TorT - I am planning to give out some sort of chocolate bar that I add my own wrapper to. If anyone has any allergies to this, please let me know so that I can have another type of treat on hand.

Once again for "remedial Tiffiny" with my Marine DH gone, building a mew house, a million Doctor's appt.'s left from my aneurysm, Greatgrandma in the hospital with terminal cancer and potty training a toddler and a first time Kindergartener.........I am about to forget my own name snydrome :(

Not trying to feel sorry for myself I just can't seem to keep up with details:

All the treats sound great. I am sure we can do what we all do every year and steal the treats we want from our young children and pass the appropriate ones on to them (lol) ;)

Zito'sfamily: We are a laid back, been thru a lot of stuff group so if there is anything we can do to help you all do the TOT with us, allergies, taking kids around whatever we will all help in anyway we can!

Poohbush, how is your MIL?

Carolyn great idea, but where is the DIS Meet?

We are not getting to the Radisson until late Friday.

Ok, off to the day and look forward to the cruise and no problems, it seems these DIS Boards have enough problems for us all

Tiff, Our dismeet is scheduled for after the lifeboat drill and before the sail away party in the promenade lounge. Just don't ask me where that might be

Not out of town till the 10th and 11th of Oct.

It is my understanding that everyone who gave me there stateroom numbers would be giving out treats. If this is not true please let me know.
I will be making every effort to keep up with your stateroom number on land or at sea. Here is how I plan on doing that by giving everyone my name. It is CECELIA SPARR please everyone make a note of that. Once on the ship anyone needing to get in touch with me can do so by going to Guest Services and asking what stateroom I am in. They will either tell you or they will contact me.

Sandra I have made a note of your change and will be posting when I bring the new T-or-T post to the current page.

The Promenade Lounge is on Deck 3 just in front of the aft elevator.

Ginger,

Guest Services won't give out cabin numbers, but you can have others have a message delivered to your room by giving Guest Services your name, I did that on our cruise in August.

No one has to hang around in your stateroom to wait for the T-or-T'ers to come. Well I will have to make the exception of those kind folks who I have posted as Greeting and Treating only staterooms. These folks don't have children T-or-T'ing, but have been so kind to offer our children goodies. If you have kids in the T-or-T we will give you time to run ahead of the group to be at your door to hand out goodies.

BTW, Treating and Greeting stateroom people I will have my 2 way radio on. If you happen to have a set of these we could arrange to be on the same channel so you don't have to wait around for us. I could give you a shout once were nearing or on your deck giving you plenty of time to get to your room.
I have made signs for your stateroom doors. We will be arriving at the terminal early to get a good place in line. I will have them available for you there. Don't worry if you don't see I'll also have them before the T-or-T starts. There will be plenty of time for you to place it on your door. You can leave your child(ren) with the group know one will get lost or stolen. Speaking of that...
On Saturday please make sure you register your children in one the Kids Clubs. Why? because they collect all the info needed to reunite your child to you if you should get lost. They will give them an I.D. bracelet to wear while on the cruise, they will give you a beeper. Please make sure you both wear them at all times. It's very easy to get lost on the ship and on land.

Info.......the life boat drill ends and the sailaway party begans immediately afterward. The ship is also preparing to pull away from the dock. I'll be missing the met at the Promenade Lounge, sorry. We have a family tradition after ditching the life jackets we go to dock 10 forward to watch for dolphins jumping in front of the ship as she sails out of port. Everyone is welcomed to join us.

John my DH, Bill is not much on cards but he's great at drinking beer. Maybe you guys can hook-up for a brew.

KEH, I don't know if you can make 2 ressies for High Tea, but it's worth a try since you have 2 stateroom numbers. You make one and have your DH make the other using different numbers.

My child does have a peanut allergy, but I don't, I love peanuts.

Enough from me today.
