Any Magic Halloween Cruisers 2003 out there?

Hey, Rae. Just noticed that your new room is just along the corridor from us. I will be along for that rum!!

We all hesitate about wearing them to begin with - but sooner or later we know it's the only way to go!!! LOL.

RAE: Do you have some documents showing the room you originally booked and some other documents showing the one you have now? If so, I suggest you take all of them so that when you get to port, and you ask if the first room is available by chance, you can SHOW them that you had booked it originally and that it was DVC/DCL that changed you, not you yourselves.

Question:

I know we are having our TOT on October 30 on a day at sea but I assume on Friday the 31st Disney lets all kids dress up and must have some sort of Halloween party???? We have early seating, do the kids wear their costumes to dinner that night?

Thanks-
Tiffiny

TIFFINY: Last year Thursday was the 31st. We did our DIS Halloween trick-or-treat-treasure hunt in the morning. Then all who wanted went to lunch together.

During the afternoon there were stations where kids (and adults) could get treats from Cruise Staff members dressed as pirates. It was not a party so much as trick or treating around the ship. Ginger would remember, but I am not even sure they had a map of where to go, so you would have to try every corner of every public area I guess.

Some kids wore their costumes all day. Many wore them to dinner.

Many adults wore them to dinner. Some wore them to the theater show.

We went to the theater show and semi formal picture opportunity with the Captian in semiformal clothes. Then we changed to our costumes, went back for a photo op with the Captian, went to dinner and then the costume judging.

We only wish we had shared our costume ideas on the thread as one family went as three of the dwarfs and we might have had a better chance at a prize if we went with them--Snow White, the prince-now-a-king-as-we-do-not-look-20-any-more and three of the dwarfs. There was also a couple who went as Cinderella and the Prince-now-a-king and if we had gone with them we could have been billed as the DISNEY KINGS AND QUEENS. But it was fun anyway,

What days are our formal, semi-formal and mexicali nights? If they are different days than Halloween (Friday) I may let the boys wear their costumes. We have early seating and young kids for the rotation............any help?

Thanks-
Tiff

Tiff: We did not know unti we were on the ship and got our Navigators each day what they were going to do about Formal and Semi formal nights. They did switch them around as I recall.

If there is bad weather so they cannot get to a port, and they spend a day cruising around looking for sun, then the activities will be different from what you would find on one of our Navigators from last year or a recent one anyway.

My advice is to take the various outfits and when you get the Navigator each night for the next day, check and see what is planned and decide what to wear then.

Also, ask the kids. They may have plans they made with friends from one of the Clubs so if you try to run counter to that, you will have unhappy campers. If they want to wear costumes every night, what the heck, go for it.

Tiff, I think it's Sunday night for Semi-Formal, Wednesday night is Mex's night and Thursday is Formal.
You never know about your dining rotation till you get your KTTW Card.

The T-or-T that Disney had last year aboard the ship in my opinion was poorly organized. I don't remember if they gave us maps to find the stations. But, when you did find one the lines were long, we didn't bother.

Tiff, on our last cruise (and only cruise) our daughter wore a princess costume almost every night to dinner - We had the second seating, so all the pictures and stuff were done by then and we really weren't too worried about getting stuff on it -

We just gotta have some fun here, folks - so you can count on me being in costume for the entire day and night......

Hello everyone, I never thought I'd be asking this question as I truly didn't think an upgrade was in our future. I don't even understand why Disney gives upgrades or how you qualify for an upgrade. This is our first Disney Cruise afterall, and although I feel like I"ve learned a ton from all of you veteran cruisers I still feel pretty clueless.

Well, we just got a call from our travel agent telling us we got an upgrade! We went from a regular outside room to a room with a verandah. My first question was, "how much is this going to cost us?" but to my amazement the upgrade IS free!! God is so good! This is truly an unexpected, wonderful surprise for us.

Of course, now I see some of you talking about unsafe verandah's. We have an 8 year old and a 4 year old. Am I going to regret getting this upgrade because I have to constantly worry about my kids falling overboard? How would I go about finding out if we have a plexiglass or solid rail? I see very little about verandahs and their descriptions in the brochure I have and the DCL website. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much!!!!!!!!

What is your new cabin number Zitofamily???

I beleive my costume is going to be fairly warm so I probably won't spend all day in it but, will definately have it on for dinner.

Congrat's on the upgrade that is awesome! I wish my DS would get upgraded from her inside cabin to an outside one  I looked on Dave's site and I am in a Cat 5 which is #7522 and it said that whole section is plexiglass. I hope that is the case???

If anyone knows for sure let me know. I am going to only open the doors for my 2.4 and 5.5 year old DS's if I am with them to be safe! I was also told the safety lock is very high, over my height of 5'5".

Tiff

Tiff, You've got a great room, only a few step to the elevators. Your verandah will have the plexi-glass rail.

I've updated the list and it's on page 109. I won't be able to get back to the boards till Monday, going to Va. for the weekend.

Everyone, I hope you all have a great one. See you soon.

Hey Tiff:

Guess what?? We are right next door to you now with our upgrade. If you have plexiglass maybe we do too!

Verandah Man: We are now in 7520. I still can't believe our good fortune!! Even if it's not a plexiglass railing - we have a VERANDAH! :bounce: We feel so incredibly blessed! :sunny:

Ginger: Since you said Tiff has a great room because it's close to the elevators, I guess I don't need to worry about whether proximity to the elevators is a bad thing either! Have a safe and wonderful trip. Let us know when you get back.
