Any Mac users out there?

I'm considering purchasing a Mac Laptop and wondering if anyone out there has experience. I know I can ask at the Apple Store, and I will, but I'd prefer to hear from people who aren't trying to sell me something.

Can I coexist with a Mac laptop and a Windows desktop? Will I be able to access my office server and do my online college work? I know Macs run Microsoft office now, but is that only in isolation?

A good friend of mine has returned to college only to find she needs to do homework and tests on a windows program. Her dh bought her a macbook, so my dh went over and set her up with Bootcamp (it did take a while). She's been using both the mac os and windows and said that it is working beautifully. It's been about a month now.

Maybe others can help with your other questions- I've never used a macbook. just my 8 year old G3 that just keeps on working.
