Any luck with waitlist by week? Not day by day.

We've have a studio reserved at OKW for Oct. 18-24th. We have been on the waitlist for almost 3 months for a studio at either BCV or BWV. I don't want to do day by day as this is in a very busy time for DVC and I will be 7 months+ pregnant on this trip. I don't want to deal with switching resorts mid-trip (or even a night) if we don't get the whole week. We will be happy with OKW if waitlist doesn't come through so that's okay. But I'm just wondering how many of you waitlist for your entire stay and don't get your preferred resort? Or if you did... how long were you waitlisted before it came through? When we waitlisted MS was very optimistic that something would come through since we were so far out. As you can see from my countdown clock-- we are now three months away and still no luck.

So since I've gotten no response does that mean EVERYBODY waitlists day-by-day? When I called to waitlist MS didn't even ask me how I wanted to do it. All she said was we will waitlisted you then call you when something comes available. Do you always have to request day-by-day? It seems like since this is what most everybody does that they wouldn't even worry with the entire trip waitlist.

I only waitlist for the entire stay. Most of the time it comes through. I couldn't imagine moving in the middle of my vacation!!

I waitlisted an entire stay at BCV last December. It did come thru but I have no recollection of how long it took.

We were on the waitlist for the entire stay, 8 nights in a 2 bedroom Thanksgiving week for over 2 months. When we had not heard a word we requested a day by day with no call just book it. After 1 week we called and had 1 day. A week later we called again to check and we had all 8 nights.

We are also on the waitlist for 5 days at BCV in Feb. We could have taken 3 days and waitlist for the last 2 days, but decided to do the whole 5 days at once because we also didn't want to move during the week. We are hoping for the same magic as loveswdw!

I'm waitisted, too, for the whole portion, NOT day by day...for this Nov 30 and Dec 1 BWV.

I just booked Vero for Presidents week, on Friday, I booked 2/14,2/15 and 2/16, today I booked 2/17 checking out on 2/18. Figured that time of year, 4 nights would be enough. I thought it would be harder considering, its Valentines, Daytona 500 and presidents week. The CM said it was still pretty open. Now I can't decide what I want to do for the remaining 3 nights, hit the Gulf coast or Orlando?

If you list for the entire time as a group, the days you need could come and go several times without you getting anything. If you can, I'd highly recommend you list for day by day. You can always cancel if time is late or you don't get all you want.

That's true. So I guess I could go ahead and waitlist day by day for BCV, keep our OKW reservation, if all days don't come through for BCV then I can cancel whatever days did (providing they come through before 30 days prior to arrival) and still have the OKW as backup-- all this is possible if we have enough points to cover both reservations, right?

Right now our OKW is 61 points. According to the calculator above, the BCV would be 86 points. So since we have 150 points we should be safe doing this correct?

I never thought about doing it that way--I'm still new to all this. And MS doesn't seem to be much help when it comes to the waitlist stuff. At least they weren't for me.
