Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

Some of the coupone codes, like the $35, expire at a certain time. I think they add it back in because it's an expired code at whatever point you're trying to use it. Just a thought. Not something I've played around with to be 100% sure.....

Ok, so I booked a car through National several weeks ago, using the codes I've found here and an e-coupon. On my confirmation, it deducts the coupon, and then adds it back in. What's up with that?? And, how can I tell if I am eligible for EA from my reservation? What size do I need to reserve?? I am an Emerald club member, but have never used Emerald Aisle. Can anyone help me?:confused3

It depends on the size car you selected. From experimenting, I have been able to determine that full size and smaller get the double entry like you described. If you select anything larger than a full, it applies the coupon in stages. Try a sample reservation and you will see what I mean.

First, you need to be logged in to your Emerald Club acct.

Second, you reserve a mid-sized car.

Third, the confirmation states level of service as AISLE. If you rent any other size vehicle, it will state RESERVE, which means you can only pick from that size vehicle.

The big thing is to log in before doing your ressie.

My observation of a few codes.

I've had a ressie for a 2 wk midsize rental for a while using the Magic Visa code 87 even though everything I read elsewhere indicated it was for renting a car NOT in the US. Price was $383 and included all insurance. That same code now brings up a price in the $8000 range. :scared1: :scared1: That just proves to me that it was NEVER intended for that code to working to rent a car IN the US WITH FULL COVERAGE.

Next, that same 2 wk midsize rental using the 57 or 67 codes come up as $266 with insurance included.

If you book a LEGITIMATE ressie using Emerald Code 5007125, its over $1200. Entertainment code is in $800 range.

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I hate myself for even booking the 67 code but prices are insane even if you book with a valid code.

I just switched my ressies from the Visa Magic Code to the 67 code last night for end of May (in NY), October, December and March 09 in Orlando. As long as the code is working and returning a confirmation when I plug it in at National, I'm going to use it.

Thanks for the info, whoever found it! I thought the Magic Visa code was great but code 67 is even better.

I made reservations on Nat'l using the 8572967 code and it's $100 cheaper than my Alamo reservation except there's no free addt'l driver. I still have the Alamo ressie. I'm tetering on whether I should use the 857 code. The Alamo one is a sure thing, but it would be nice to save $100! Has anyone had trouble with this code?

This helps!! Thanks for clearing things up.

Does coupon code ND2119071Q work for a 6-day rental? Our flight arrives after midnight Sunday a.m, will return following Friday 11 a.m. This coupon code didn't work, what other codes should I try for 6-days?

another happy ending:
booked a compact for 7 days, using *67 code & $35 coupon, p/u & d/o at the dolphin for a grand total of $79 :woohoo:
national clerk said, "oh, this is a travel solutions code" to which i simply answered, "yes" & smiled (tho i prob had beads of sweat covering my face & fear in my eyes;) ).
but he didn't say anything further.
so we go outside, & the valet brings us (get this) an SUV!! dh & i actually stood still in disbelief, repeatedly looking at one another, then back at the valet sitting in the car waving for us to come over.
finally go over (i think the valet thought we were nuts) & tell him we only reserved, and paid for, a compact.....they were almost out of all cars tho, so we got a multiple upgrade!!
worked out wonderfully for us, especially as my back injury acted up by the 2nd day there, & the ease of getting in & out of a higher vehicle was great (a compact would've been sheer torture:sad1: ).
i can't say it enough: ty sooooooo much to those who shared the codes :thumbsup2

Do you need to use a VISA credit card with these codes?

That is my question as well.....would like to use the visa code (is that the 57 or 67?) and pay with my american express which is on file with National.......a few pages back I think another poster said it went through like that.

Won't work for a 6 day rental.
I used NF1982JDD for $30 off a 5 day rental.

Neither of the codes you listed is the Visa Code. (The rates have gone sky high with that one, the last two numbers for it were 87. If you check Mousesavers, it's been deleted there.)
The 57 and 67 codes are for Travel Solutions.

What is "Travel Solutions"?
If you google Travel Solutions 8572957
You'll be able to read all sorts of opinions.
You can probably substitute 67 for the
last two numbers and google again for more
opinions.

Just wanted to share an experience. I used the VISA code to book a rental car for a friend who was traveling to Orlando this past weekend. I made the ressie back when this thread was on page 1. Anyway, my friend gets back today and says The National agent told her she could not use this code it was for international visitors only. She gave her a really hard time. My friend said sorry someone else made this ressie for me blah, blah blah. The agent relented and gave her the car but made my friend feel really bad about it. I just wanted to share her experience.

I have a ressie in Aug using the same code. I am a new Emerald executive member and I called the 1800 emerald number and asked if I could use this code. The agent said yes and converted it to an Emerald Club ressie. I hope I'm safe but I have a back up ressie at Alamo just in case.

ETA: I am using the 57 code not the visa code. *wipes the sweat from her brow*

All the ads & websites I found at the beginning while googling said it was for INTERNATIONAL travelers renting a car in the US too. I didn't book using that code because of that. It was clearly printed everywhere. If you try to use that code now, its $8000 to rent a car because of the insurance. Sorry your friend had a bad experience. I guess National caught on to the glitch in their system once they had so many ressies on the VISA magic code.

I'm still a bit leary on the mistyped Travel Solutions code ressie I have on 67. Mainly due to lack of finding VALID info online as to who the code was originally meant for before someone found it by typo. If its another glitch, its only a matter of time for the 57 & 67 to be gone too.

I agree. I have two reservations right now. One with the VISA code and one with the 67 code. I'm not particularly happy with either one. Not because of the rate but because I don't want to use something that I'm not supposed to use and it still isn't clear to me what the deal is with these things. My reservation with the 67 code is about $100 less than the VISA code reservation. I just checked and found the the AAA code will get it down to only $14 more than the VISA code. I am seriously considering cancelling both the VISA and the 67 code and just going with AAA. It's more money. but at least I will be able to sleep better.

Hey thanks. I was trying valid codes last night, but think I missed the AAA code. Off to go check. Yes, sleeping & not worrying about insurance fraud is worth $ to me. I really don't want their insurance. I just wanted a decent rental rate and wasn't finding anything without using strange codes.

ETa: That didn't work. About $700 more than Visa code for me. Still going with 67 code & PRAYING no insurance issues. If the car was sitting in WDW parking like it does on most trips, I wouldn't worry. However, this trip is a road trip and it will be putting on serious miles in many cities. Just wish I could have the 67 rate and decline their insurance.

Sorry, if this has been asked but I don't rent rental cars offened. If I sign up for EC do you get a better rate? Can I combined *67 and Id nd2119071q with an entertainment book coupon? If so, the website only allows me one contract id code.
