Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

I will just stick with the mini van for the peace of mind, well worth not having to be worry about running off the plane, straight to the parking garage before everyone else. Plus everyone else was charging well over $1000 for that time period, so Im not complaining about it at all. ;) I'm very happy with the rate from National, so happy that i booked my Oct. and Dec. rental already! Thank you OP!:wizard:

I'm having no luck with any of these codes. I booked at Dollar from 5/7-12 for a compact (it's a budget trip) for $124.65. Budget Car Rental through a USAA code came out slightly higher. When I put in these same dates and use every code mentioned in this thread it still quotes $177.00 for a compact. That's no where close. Last Sept I used National and got terrific rates, in January I used Alamo with the best rate and now I guess I'll try Dollar unless I can find a better deal. Last year I paid $125.00 for 7 days, now it's that same price for 5 days??? :confused3

In our Emerald profile, I have all insurances marked as declined. I have a reservation with the Visa code where insurance is INCLUDED. Do you think it would be a good idea for just this reservation to go into my profile & change the applicable insurances to accepted, just so they can't say I didn't have insurance incase we have an accident?

I figure it won't hurt. I'll just change the profile back after the trip.

Sorry if it was asked but what is the visa code, when does it expire?

edited. Got it! I used the visa code and $20 entertainment book coupon. It came to $5.00 more then Budget but it included all the insurance. Hopefully it will go down by August.

Thanks everyone!!

Visa Code : 8572987 , i used this code for my oct. & dec. 2008 rental booking, so i am not sure when it expires. $35 coupon code: ND2119071Q , Expires 6/30/08.

Booked this morning with National. Used the Visa code & the $35 coupon. Got a midsize for $218 for 8 days. Pretty happy with that. Wanted to do a compact this time but realized that we couldn't take advantage of bypassing the counter & going right to the garage to pick our car. We really like being able to use the Emeral Aisle. Possible that the base could drop between now & our mid-May trip. Just wanted to share!

I just used the 2 car upgrade NU1962JJR clicked compact and got the standard for the same price as midsize.

National is my first choice (Ex. Aisle) but did notice this morning that Alamo's base weekly amount has dropped. Even with paying all of the fees and taxes my total is still $50 less than National. I'm not ready to switch to Alamo, but I sure hope National's weekly base rate drops too....I have 7 weeks and counting.

I'm new to Emerald Aisle, we just joined last night. Why can't you go straight to the garage/bypass counter. I also have a ressie using the Visa code and the $35.00 coupon, and I'm now wondering being we're using them, can we not go straight and get the car. We're renting an SUV, if that makes any diff.

TIA

I booked with National, Emerald Aisle, using the code and coupon. However, I did notice the confirmation said: Level of Service - Counter. So I went back and checked my DH's profile. Since we hadn't used them in a while, the driver's license info was expired. I re-did the reservation and now have a confirmation that says: Level of Service - Emerald Aisle. Check your profile.

I may have to switch to Alamo.
EA - 3/24.........4/11 $481. :scared1:
Alamo same dates $403.

  1. NATIONAL CODES:
National will usually have the best one-way rates, But you have to mix and match.
Remember National allows you to use multiple coupons (up to 3) with a corporate account. But not all coupons can be used together with each other.

  1. Thanks for posting these codes! :thumbsup2

I have a question. I used the code for the $20 off weekly rate (contract ID 5008716/coupon ID ND2002FJR). It applied the $20 off but gave me a message stating that I need to present the coupon. How do I go about getting the actual coupon?

If you put the coupon code in google it will probably come up.

OMG, not you!! I know how much you love your Executive Service. I hope I don't because I need those days to keep my Executive level. I average 45 days a year and we know the magic number is 40. Of course your dates are in that Easter travel dates, so the chances of your rates dropping are not great. Good luck!! That is a big price difference.

My previous post was about not being able to bypass the counter renting a compact car. It had to be at least an intermediate. When reserving the compact with the code & coupon it said level of service "emerald reserve". When we reserved the intermediate with the same code & coupon level of service change to "emerald aisle". That's all. I just really like bypassing the counter, picking the car & getting to the fun! We're going to rent intermediate for that reason.

You can still rent a compact, and get emerald choice if you are an Emerald Aisle member, and still bypass the counter but then you are stuck with the compact aisle....
I just do whatever is a better price...

Guess I was a little confused about that! What is the difference between E.A. & E. Choice or Reserve? A compact would be fine for us. I just like passing the counter & picking the car. Any other info on this?

I used the visa code with a double upgrade also.. different code than the previous poster though: NU2568JDX . I got a standard (Monte Carlo or similar) for the price of a compact. Total with insurance (because it's included with the visa code) is $636 for 21 days and $681 for 22 days.

It's nice to get the insurance, though I don't need it... but this price is $100 more than last year. I can't get it any cheaper. I've tried every code I can find, and most car rental places.

I got $657 with Avis (with a code). And I even tried MCO with EZ-Car rental and got $652 (no code). I can get $30 off that price with the credits I earned there.. but I'd rather not fly into MCO if I can help it.

My dates are June 13th - July 3rd (or 4th) flying into Sanford (SFB)... if anyone is going around those dates and has gotten better prices with a specific code/company.. please let me know!

Wow.. with the increase of airfare and car rentals this year, it's putting a strain on my budget!

Visa Code : 8572987 , i used this code for my oct. & dec. 2008 rental booking, so i am not sure when it expires. $35 coupon code: ND2119071Q , Expires 6/30/08.

 how were u able to use this coupon since it expires prior to rentals?

I didnt use the $35 coupon code for my Oct. & Dec. trip, i only used the visa code. I booked my March trip using the visa and $35 coupon codes. I figure if i book my Oct & Dec. trips now with the visa code and wait for a coupon to add later, if at that time my rate doesnt change for making or adding a change to the ressies.
