Any luck booking early October at 7 month window

Just wanting some info as to success or non success of booking at seven month window for early to mid October.

Do you care about all DVC resorts, or do you have a specific resort or area in mind? It would also help to know if you want a specific type of villa and view.

We were looking to buy at saratoga initially to get started and eventually buy in at BLT. So I guess if there is any info on BLT lake view studio, that would be helpful.

At the 7 month mark, many people are reporting success at BLT especially for a lake view room. We own at BLT and we often book at the 11 month mark at BLT and then switch to another resort at the 7 month mark. So we know that owners at BLT do give up their rooms.

In the past, we even got at the 7 month mark a studio and a 1 BR (both were pool/garden view) at BWV during October. Sometimes it's easier to get shorter periods of time versus an entire week. So for our BWV waitlists we had 4 days and 3 days WL for the two rooms. Both came through within a few days.

For Columbus Day week (Oct.12-19) we were trying to go on as few points as possible. Couldn't get the entire week standard BWV or BLT. Could've gotten AKV standard exactly at 7 mos. Ended up with OKW, but near HH was not available. Was a little surprized how quickly everything got filled up, but for F&W guess that's to be expected. The two weeks prior to our week seemed to have more availability and sadly got my hopes up, but since this will be our first DVC stay, it's all good!

Ended up with OKW, but near HH was not available. Was a little surprized how quickly everything got filled up, but for F&W guess that's to be expected. Were the lake view or mk view studios available for the dates you were looking for at BLT?

Just the other day, I was able to get a savannah view room at Kidani for mid-October.

We stayed at kidani last October and really enjoyed it. Was so hard for us to choose home resort. They all have their positives and negatives.

We booked BWV from Oct 4th - 11th and had success getting 2 studios (garden as all the standard views were taken) but this was right when the dates for Tower of Terror 10 Miler were announced, so maybe 9 months ago? Have read of others having some problems but probably depends on type of room you're looking for. Just a note for crowds ToT is from Oct 4th - 6th then Columbus Holiday on 14th. Good Luck!

October is a high DVC demand time with the midlle two weeks being somewhat higher than the beginning and end. For first half Oct getting anything at the near park resorts at 7 months out was a challenge this year even for BLT lake view (about 67% BLTs rooms) and BWV's pool/garden view (about 68% of all BWV rooms). Some got lucky, some didn't. The more days you were looking for in a row, the lower your chance of getting them, e.g., 3 or 4 nights gave you a better chance than 6 or 7 for Oct 2013. Time around Columbus day weekend was extremely difficult. 1BRs tend to be open longer than others. Also, getting as many nights as you can and waitlisting for rest can sometimes work.

As to other resorts, you could easily get AKV standard or savanna view, OKW, and SSR during first half of Oct.

We were able to get VWL 1 BR for 8-13 October. We booked about 3 days into the 7 month window. By about 2 hours after we reserved VWL was not available, neither was BLT, BWV, or BCV. I was happy to get VWL as we haven't stayed there, but it is obvious to me that October is hard to get much of anything inside 7 months.

It's good to here that you were fortunate to get VWL. We are staying there this year as well October 8 through 16! It will be our first time staying there. I hear it is very nice.

I called last week and was able to book 7 nights in a two bedroom at OKW Oct. 17 -24!

VWL is an AMAZING resort!! We stayed there for the first time last summer and fell in love! Taking the boat to MK early in the morning is wonderful!
