Do you think they've started stealth construction? Any leaked pics/concept art we haven't seen yet?

This operation is so stealthy, that I have not even heard of it, until now. Lol So is this an art gallery or a hair salon? Maybe a combo? :) I'll take a shampoo and set please.

The new C33 Jazz club/lounge/bar.

Construction has started, at least on the restrooms :rotfl:

A few weeks ago, the temporary wall attached to a Court of Angels gate was slightly open.
The lighted area will be the new restrooms for the lounge and restaurant (located above the existing public restrooms)

I am sooooo lucky I had a chance to go with my husband to celebrate our 15th anniversary, 6 years ago... the original entrance will be changing.

They are getting rid of the Court of Angels, too! :( (You can still see if it you are a member, or going to dine at Club 33.)

I know about the visual demise of the Court of Angels for the majority of park guests, and I deeply resent it.

Interesting stuff. Thanks for the pics. Keep them coming if you get more.

That one brought a tear to my eye. Hopefully I get to glimpse the courtyard again in October.

That was always my dream spot for a Disneyland proposal. :( Now it looks like I'll have to find some insanely wealthy and/or super famous guy to marry so he can use his money and influence to set up the Court of Angels for a proposal (because I'm not exactly fond of the idea of being proposed to in the waiting area of a restaurant with random tourists all plopped on chairs crowded together and chatting loudly with one another). Time to dream even bigger. ;)

This was from last month.

Oh, just stab me in the heart! I know I'll see this area again when I visit the Club, but I sure am going to miss seeing it on a regular basis whenever I want to escape to my favorite quiet place.

Today was the last day of meals at the Club. Tomorrow is the good bye day. The club does need a refurb desperately. I was glad they put a run runner down through the center hall to cover the badly scarred wood flooring. The merchandise case was almost empty Thurs when I checked on it.

Sadly, what I will miss most is the Chef and Manager. They will be moved to other restaurants. Every time I went by the club while we were there this last visit, Chef came out to give me a hug. I plan on visiting him in his new location.

It will be interesting to see what the Club will be auctioning off in the near future, as they have said they will be doing auctions on select items from the club.

The floor was in bad shape:

It's nice to see the staircase is being protected during construction, so it will likely remain unchanged.
While quite elegant, the design might not be allowed under current building codes.

Wow, wasn't that bad when I was there in May, but the finish was definitely gone on the parquet. Looks like they had water to get the wood that dark. They could have just closed it for 3-4 days and refinished, but good timing to do it with the remodel.

It's been pretty bad for over a year now. I was glad to see the runner put in. Took the edge off.

It was sad to see the Trophy Room pretty much empty of all decorations. Even the vulture was gone (before it was stolen.)

The lift was having issues. One 2 of our visits, the lift was not working, while 1 trip it was. Luckily, was able to get one last ride in before it closed....

It will be nice not having people trying to slip in the door when you are entering or exiting.

Wasn't nearly as bad back in May. Wonder what caused it to deteriorate so fast.

I have never seen anyone do that. Most people have better things to do with their time while visiting the park, than to waste it being silly or immature in that manner.

Malcon10t, is this just a temporary move during the refurbishment? I hope the Chef and Manager will be back after the reno is completed.

I didn't know the vulture was stolen. That kind of thing makes me sad. I resist change but often I like the end result once I adjust, but I am downhearted at the loss of the trophy room because of the historical aspect. I'd love to have something from the auction as a memento, but that isn't likely to happen. I don't think my friend who is a member is interested in getting anything but it's fun for me to hear about it and live it vicariously.
