Any Late Night Flights & DME Experiences??

Wondering if any of you have taken a flight that arrives late, used DME & had your luggage delivered? Or did you pick up your luggage at baggage claim?

Our flight arrives at 11pm on the Tuesday after Labor Day. This will be our first time using DME & want to utilize the luggage portion of DME (i.e. having them drop it off at the resort), I'm curious to know what people have experienced as far as timing of luggage being dropped off that late?

I'm hoping that since it's a slower time of day for the airport, our luggage would arrive faster than if we arrived mid-day...but I'm not assuming that!!

I'm not too concerned with being woken up in the middle of the night with my luggage, just more curious than anything!

I have taken it before. We arrived in Nov 05 after midnight. We got to ME and had a bus to ourselves. The driver would not shut up so I had to talk to him. Total time from arrival at the gate to Pop Century was 45 mins.

We picked our Luggage up since it was just roll aboards.

I do know that you can contact luggage service folks and request that they delay the delivery.

It will probably take the same amount of time in the night. The reason, they have to get it from the plane, deliver it to the ME pick up point. Disney has to sort it correctly then truck over. It might be a little quicker as the traffic on the roads is lighter, but I woudl be willing to bet that it isnt too much.

I would like to know the answer to this as well.

We are arriving late & do not want a knock on the hotel room door in the middle of the night with our luggage.

I would prefer to get our own luggage & bring it on the bus with us, especially since we have to check everything & not bring any carry ons (toothpaste) etc.

It would be so much more convenient to get our own luggage & bring right to the hotel with us.

Does anyone know if this is allowed???

I believe that you can sign up for DME but pick up your own baggage, and then bring it to the DME bus with you. Just make sure NOT to put the yellow DME tags onto your bags.

I wouldn't have realized NOT to put the lugggage tags on.

I feel much better & will definitely take my own luggage on the bus so we are not woken up in the middle of the night.

bumping this to find out how much trouble it is checking in at night? I will also arrive around 11 at the airport which means I prob. won't make it to the hotel until 12 or 1230 even. Is this going to be a major problem? And am I going to get the worst room at the hotel (pop)?? I'm pretty worried about that. Thanks.
