We are heading in Orlando in 5 days. Any last minute tips? Getting a bit nervous here. This is my first time going to a major park w/ my kids without my (late) husband. I hope everything works out.

Im sooo nervous...I am shaking :Pinkbounc

Dont be nervous.....You are staying on-site, so everything will be great!! We'll be there at the same time. If you see 2 couples me and my dh are 42, and my sister and her hubby are 33. My DD, 9, had dark brown hair and glasses, my nephew is 10 and is a red head. Definately speak to us. We are checking into the RPR on Sat, 4-19 and staying till the 22. Hope to see you there!!!

Patty

Have fun!!!! You don't say how old your kids are but one thing I try to review with my DDs (6, 4 and almost 2) is where to go/what to do if we get separated. US and IOA are AWESOME and I'm sure FOTL is AWESOME too. Enjoy!

You are going to have a BLAST!
If your kids are young be sure to eat at the Cat in the hat.
Its very cute, food not bad at all, and while we were eating
the cat in the hat and thing 1 and thing 2 were going up to all
the tables! Take LOTS of film! We took 3 rolls and had to buy more. be sure to check out the talking statue( SP?) Its very neat for the kids when it talk to them and even describes what the they look like! Take time to enjoy all the cool stuff around you.
Have a great and safe trip.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Aww, Telly...

I remember your story... :(

Tips: HAVE fun! Meet Patty and her family! Get caught up in fantasy that is the Universal Escape!

Do you have the Loew's First card? If not apply at www.loewshotels.com and get your number before you go. Your kids will love the milk and cookies and you may just get an upgrade!

I hope you have a wonderful trip. You deserve some peace. Take your time and enjoy every aspect of the resort and the parks. Your kids will LOVE it and love YOU for doing this for them. I know mine does! :teeth:

Thanks everyone! 4 more days..OH GOSH!! My kids are 4/6. One thing I would like to do that you can't do at Disney is pool hop!! :)

Fantasia, Make sure you register at the front desk for the Easter egg hunt. I called and registered this morning. It starts at 8:00am. Since your staying on site you can get in to Universal early to ride Jimmy Neutron before the park opens.

thanks so much for the tip about the egg hunt! I just preregistered too!
I agree with the idea about the preplanning in case of getting separated. A few years ago, 2 of my kids did get lost in the crowds of the mardi gras parade. They knew to go to a worker, who took them to guest relations where i met up with them. A happy ending! (yes, i did get a few grey hairs that night!)

Thanks about the egg hunt register. Geezz...I didn't know you have to register just to do hunting... Anyway...maybe I can just register when I get there. Hopefully they are not full. And thanks for telling me about Jimmy Neutron. Don't know much about this ride or this show. I hope my kids 4 and 6 will be old enough to do JN.

Thanks everyone!! Keep it coming... I still have 3 more days to go... OH GOSH GOLLY!!!... :bounce:

Have a great time. I haven't been with two kids alone but only one but we've always had such a nice time. Don't hesitate to keep approaching the employees with questions. I did this a lot and they've always been nice.

Also, don't forget to bring playclothes for the wet play areas. I didn't with DS and he was drenched!

Thanks Planogirl! I'll try to remember their swimsuit. 2 more days.... YIKES!!!!

If you guys only knew what is going through my mind..... Im thinking....do Disney for 4 days and do Universal for 2 days. But I said...I think it might be a bit too much to do the moving...and plus I already purchased my 5 consecutive day passs and I would like to all those days and plus...I want to really try RPR and hop to a different resort to use their pool instead of staying at ASSp and paying $122 and don't even have a coffee maker in the room.

6 full days at Universal....WOW!! We might get bored there!

OK...2 more days...you only have 2 more days to chime in... lol.

Six days does seem like a lot but you can always check out Sea World if it interests you and Wet n Wild belongs to Universal now too. But it would feel strange to visit Orlando and not go to WDW wouldn't it?

That 5 day pass is a great deal! We purchased that and only used 3 of the days and still saved a bundle.

Sea World is a good option. Also there are plenty of other smaller attractions (Ripley's, Wonderworks, FunSpot) you can hit if you want to take a break from Universal. :)

I knew it...6 days it quite a bit too much for only 2 parks. Yeah...I do feel funny if I don't visit WDW. Maybe we will hit MK and AK. Hmmmm,,,,or 2 days at ASSp and 4 days at RPR.... Nuh...I'll stick with RPR and just take a cab to MK and AK.

Yeah...Sea World is an option. We might do that. Thanks Planogirl and the DM. 1 more day left...then we'll be at Universal on Thursday night.
