Had to ask....getting so excited! With my PF flaring up, need all the help I can get to finish and get my medal. THANKS!

I'm also looking for your advice since this will be my first princess too!
And if you add about where the characters are and where the professional photographers will be that would be great. Was that be on the left or ride side of the castle when you are coming out for pictures?:cool1::angel:

Stick to your plan. It is very exciting when you start and you will have some extra energy, don't stray from your plan. For example don't run if you haven't trained to run..okay run when you see the finish line! Don't take the gu or whatever they have at food stop if you haven't trained with it. It's your race so don't try and keep up with that person in front of you.
Smile and have fun!

Hard to tell on characters...they were different in 2009 from 2010. Seems they had moved many to inside MK in 2010. Other than the "Heros" around mile 3 (they were still there on return trip, moed to other side) the first five miles were some "bands", music here and there and a ballon arch around mile 4. They had princess' on the long stretch (mile 7-10) every mile or so...like Belle, Pocohontas, Jasmine. Also in Epcot at the turn where countries meet front of park. Hope that helps. Oh, professional photo..can't remember. They are at the finish. There is a camera mounted on an overhead thing at the 15K mark.

Don't let others running faster than you make you run faster than your pace, it will hurt you, just keep to your pace. Let those running faster run that pace, they either trained that way or in the moment of excitement, running faster than they should and get tired out earlier. Just concentrate on your own pace and have fun!

My advise...

1. Run your own race. Don't worry about what everyone else around you is doing.

2. Assuming that your pace will comfortably allow it (and most people should be able to) take lots of pictures along the way. Do this race to have a good time rather than getting a great finish time, especially if this is your first race.

3. If you're like me and have been training in the cold and snow, remember to drink a bit more and consider bringing salt tabs or a salty snack as the warmer temps in Orlando probably isn't something that your body is trained for (learned this one the hard way in years past)

Have to echo the hydration advice. It looks like Saturday overnight temps will be almost 60! So the race will be warm from the start. Stay hydrated on SATURDAY especially if you are walking the parks. Then drink during the race!! Also, re-fuel with gatorade, gu, sports beans, whatever. Your body will crave that fuel if it is really hot.

Don't overdress, especially if you think it is going to take you close to 3 hours.

Have fun...enjoy...take it all in...it really is magical :cool1:
