I've just heard about these shoes, and they are MUCH more my style than Crocs. Anyone wear them? What do you think of them? Also, if your kids wear them, please let me know how they do with them.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I've bought a couple pairs and love them so far but haven't been to the world in them yet so I won't know how they do until the end of July. They feel great so far and I have a feeling they will be great at the World.

I bought my first pair (Newports) this spring. I usually wear Columbia's but they changed the shoe and it didn't fit right. I love my Keens. I switch back and forth between last years Columbia and the Keens. I'm getting another pair of Keens next year. They are way too comfortable.

I do have to admit that I kept them in the box for 2 weeks - debating on whether to return them or not...$100 was about $20 more than I normally spend on my sandals...my thought now...well worth the money. We'll see how they work at WDW in 2 weeks. We've (DD5 & I) been walking everynight to building up for the trip and so far no problems, no hot spots, just comfortable feet.

Hope this helps.

13 days and counting   :woohoo:

Hey HRPro! We're going to be there about the same time - we arrive on June 8th!

Could you please tell me where you purchased your shoes? Thanks!

I haven't splurged for Keens yet, though I want to, but I did get the Target brand version (for $25!!). It isn't as high quality, but it is definitely better than 1/4 the quality of the Keens. Anyway, I've been taking daily walks (over a mile) in them, and they work really well. I wouldn't hesitate to consider Keens a good Disney shoe.

Yes and we love them!! DH and I have a pair. I have plantar fasciitis and no probs in my Keens...sometimes I still get sore in my Crocs. We've worn them to WDW a few times. I switch into Birks when we get back to the room, DH just wears his all the time. He did get a sore spot after a few days last time so he wore socks the next day - not the most stylish but definitely comfortable! After a few days you get little triangle Keen tans on your feet. :goodvibes When they get nasty - toss them in the washer!

We have not purchased any for DD, age 8. She loves her Land's End sport sandals.

Hey Twingle

I got mine at a place in the local mall, but Dick's Sporting Goods, Campmore, and other places carry them. We're staying at CBR...too excited

DS (age 8) and I both have the Keen Newport. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Wore them 2 days in February in WDW. THey were awesome. DS is allowed to wear his to summer camp (because of the ankle strap, and closed toe). For us, they are worth EVERY penny.

Thanks so much for all the responses! I've gone ahead and purchased the Newports for my son and my twin daughters - but I'm going to see if I can find the adult ones at Dick's Sporting Goods this weekend so I can try them on. I think the Newport in a size 11 may be just a little too scary - but I really like the Chelsea style!

Thanks again!

My 9 year old got a pair last year at the beginning of summer and hated them. He said his feet sweat in them and his feet don't normally sweat bad.

We bought a pair of Chaico's and love them. We wore nothing else in Disney for 14 days. They are wonderful. You can go to Track n' trail and they can tell you the benefits of both shoes. They did recommend the Chiaco's to us

Have a Great time wish we were going.

DD just got hers at REI last night.

I know L.L.Bean was carrying them as well.

My ds(3) LOVES his. He wears them all the time. I have to pull them off his feet(so they must be comfortable to him) My DH LOVES his he wore them last year at Disney. And he bought me a pair that I think I love I really have not worn them that much yet. I'll let you know after July.

I have been wearing Keens for about 3 years. I made my first August trip to WDW in 2004 in Keens and they were WONDERFUL. I have Newport H2Os that I usually wear in WDW for the fact that they handle water/rain so well and other styles that I wear at home also. Before Keens I would expeiment with diff brand tennis shoes and have major blisters and aches. (did that for about 10 years!)

My girls (6 and 9) also LOVE their Keens. They have Newport H2O style. They are comfy straight from the box if you order the correct size. They run a bit small. Order up 1/2 to a full size. We have done MANY trips over the past few years to WDW and Hawaii in our Keens. GREAT!

I also love my Chaco sandals. They have great arch support and keep my feet and legs really comfy on a long WDW day. I can highly recommend Chacos, too.

DH and I both have them and love them. DH has the Taos and I have the Newports. He got his at Modells Sporting Goods, I got mine at the Walking Company. I have seen them at American Outfitters and Cabelas, too. As soon as DS fits into them I will get him a pair too!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Our whole family LOVES Keens! DH and I bought a pair each for our Disney trip last June. They were great. We took other shoes but never needed to switch off like we did before. This year I bought pairs for each of my 3 kids DDs 10 and 5 and DS 2 to wear. We all wore our Keens all week. I've since bought myself a pair of the flip-flop ones and I love them too!

They're machine washable and dry really fast. They don't chafe when wet like other shoes I've tried. Plus, the soles are anti-microbial and they don't get all funky smelling in the heat.

We got ours at Eastern Mountain Sports, on-line at REI.com, or at the local Stride Rite for the kids.

Thanks for responding! Today was a bust in trying to find some Newports so I could try them on, but I'm going out again tomorrow to see if I can find them. If not, I know that Zappos has a free return ship, so I'll just do that.

Thanks again!

I wear either 7 1/2 or 8. I ordered size 8 Keens and I was glad I did. They fit just fine. A 7 1/2 would have been too small.

So if you don't get to try them on, maybe this info will be helpful to you.

I had the same problem in the regular leather type Newports. I could tell as soon as I slipped them on they were hot so I tried the H2s (they are a rugged fabric instead of leather) and they were much cooler. I lucked into a pair on ebay and saved a few bucks. I do recommend trying them on in a store before ordering thm on line. They run a bit small.
