Any "Judging Amy" fans out there??????

My elderly Mom watches 'Judging Amy' religiously everyday on Lifetime. I watch it sometimes too.

However we cannot figure out the family dynamics on this show. They arent very clear if you never watched it from day one.

Here is what we are trying to figure out.

Who is Donna to Amy?
Why does Donna live with Amy's brother(we dont think he is the father)?
Who is Donna babies Father?
And why does Donna ANNOY my mother so much?

How many brothers does Amy have????? One or Two????
And why does the mother Tyne Daly never have ANY scenes with the Brothers?????


Any help will be appreciated...these questions have us stumped?

On the days I work from home I catch this show while eating lunch. Donna used to work in Amy's courtroom. I'm not exactly sure what her job was. I think she's actually married to some guy in prison and he's the father (conjugal visit ). I think she lives with Amy's brother because they became friends and she needed a place and someone to help with the baby. Amy has 2 brothers - the one Donna lives with and the one who's married to the blonde. I've seen the mother have seens with the brothers. Not a lot but some. The annoying part is a whole other thread .

Donna works for the court in Amy's court room.
Donna needed a room mate, and Amy's brother need a place to live.
Brother is not baby's dad. Baby's dad is Donna's husband, who she met and married while the father is in jail for life (for killing his mother). They had a congical(sp?) visit, that's how she became pregnant.

Donna annoys everyone!

Amy has two brothers. The older one, who runs the family insurance business, and the younger one (Donna's room mate) who is an unemployed writer. Tyne does have scenes with the brothers on occasion.

She lives with one of Amy's bros (the cute one) because his roommate moved out. There is also a cousin. You may be mistaking the cousin for one of the brothers. There are 2 brothers and one cousin.

Who is the cousin????

I think the Brother is Vincent (who lives with annoying Donna) and the other brother who is married to the blond...They want or dont want to adopt a baby (depending which episode you watch)

You must be early in the series. The cousin shows up when Vincent (pause: mmmmmmmm, Vincent! Sorry.) leaves the show. Then the cousin comes and moves in with Donna (IIRC). I forget the cousin's name.

The cousin is Kyle who replaced Vincent as Donna's roomate when Vincent married Carol and moved to San Francisco. Kyle is a recovering alcoholic/drug addict and a Dr. at the local charity hospital. I actually liked the show better when Kyle joined it. The only member of the show I don't like much is Amy. Donna is annoying, but likable. The same is true of Jillian, the blonde wife of the older brother. I am addicted to this stupid show....

LOL, in a way. JA blocks on TBS. I actually missed seeing the last two seasons. Maternity leave ran out.

Kyle, that's it. Later though, Vincent comes back.

I got REALLY hooked on this show when I had surgery in January of 06. I was in the hospital for a week and then home for 6 weeks and I watched it EVERY day.

mmmm....Vincent....I really didn't like the shows when he left.

Judging Amy is on TNT, NOT TBS.

It's an excellent show. TNT tends to chop it up by putting in their own artificial commercial breaks. I wish they'd stop that stupd 5 past the hour system. All it does is annoy people and it hasn't worked to their advantage in 20 years, so what's the point?

Donn becomes more of a part of the family when she has the baby - she starts out as a real sad sack loser, including marrying the guy in prison, but when she gets pregnant you learn AMAZING things about her, and her mother's treatment of her sort of prompts they Grey family to take her under their wing. And she blossoms.

It might be worth getting DVDs if they exist, because a lot of the final stuff would be more meaningful if you know everybody's total story arcs.

I was sick yesterday, so that was the first time I'd seen it in quite some time. Amy was always my least favorite, but she seemed way more annoying than I remembered. This was the one where Vincent announced that he was moving to San Francisco, and Amy whined and sulked the rest of the show. Just shut up, already!

I agree with you about Kyle, I liked the show better after he came along.

I love Vincent! The actor who played him, oh what is his name??? Well, anyway, he has also been in a lot of movies....Birdcage, one with J. Lo, I think it was called Enough, and I believe he is in the new Angelina Jolie movie, I think he plays Daniel Pearl.
