Any issues booking for 3 when there are only 2 people to get a reservation?

It's seems to be that when I set the number of people in the party to 2 there is nothing available when making a dining reservation. However, if I change it to 3 people, I am able to make a reservation. Will I be charged a fee if the third person doesn't come?

For a regular ADR, no. I had to do that last year for our Candlelight Processional dining package, so called Disney Dining and they were able to modify the reservation from 3 to 2.

In our experience no. We have had that situation before, not because of your scenario, but because our third person wasn't feeling well and couldn't make it. There was no issue with that.

As long as at least *one* guest arrives/checks in for an ADR, the no show fee is waived.

There are no tables seating 2 available, but there are for 4. Make the reservation for 3 or heck, make it for 5 if you find it! You can immediately go into the reservation and modify it for 2.

I frequently dine solo and there are almost no reservations for 1. Been doing this for years. The system has no problem modifying and keeping the same time.

As someone pointed out prepays like CRT or special dining like CP or dessert parties you can reserve for more people but to modify you will have to call to do it.
