Any info. yet on SSR pool slide?

I am a pool slide fanatic. I go nuts over slides, just can't get enough of them. You'd never know I'm 43 years old. I just stayed at BCV's for the first time, didn't like the SAB slide, way too fast to start and I hate lying down. On our next trip, I thought it would be fun to take a day off and take a boat over from DD to SSR and pool hop for a day, just to check out the resort. Does anybody know anything about their slide, is it all outside (like no darkness), and do you have to lie down to start out? If thats the case, that'll help me make the decision to make the day trip. Thanks.

I got the impression from the renderings and construction photos I saw that the SSR pool slide at some point or points goes "through" the rocks and you're in darkness for some brief time. Or am I imagining that?

Thanks Granny, I'm hoping the darkness isn't the case. Anyone else know anything?

I thought there was to be no pool hopping to SSR?

I'm not sure Diane, but our trip isn't till next April 2005. We'll get the official word by then. I still would like to go check out the resort, swimming would be a bonus.

diane....the pool hopping restriction to SSR is just a rumor at this point. No word from Disney on it one way or the other, except the last VM reiterated the pool hopping policy and only mentioned SAB and the AKL pools as restricted. They also published blackout dates for the entire year and SSR was not listed, so at this point there is no restriction.

So back to my question, does anyone know the details about this slide, is there any lying down involved and is it dark (if you know for sure). thanks!
