with ticket sales coming up, just wondering if dvc is offering discounts on this years MNNSHP? should we buy when they are released or wait for a discount? we would be going end of sept, so it would be near halloween.

AP/DVC discounts haven't been announced yet. Perhaps there will be something coming soon. Tickets go on sale May 1

FWIW, if you are going towards the end of September, there's no reason to be in a hurry to buy. The tickets are non-refundable and based on previous years, the nights that sell out don't do so until a week or two prior.

I am surprised that the DVC/AP discount dates information is not yet available. Tickets go on sale May 1st. for both MNSSHP and MVMCP. I realize that it will take time to sell out, but it would be nice to get this part of my planning done.

I'm looking currently at the 2008 member perks for the 2008 MNSSHP and it seems that we could have purchased any date at the discount rate. Is that correct? Those of you who did it last year, please respond. :)

In other news, the member's website still doesn't have the 2009 pool hopping rules up yet. Tsk tsk...

There were a number of nights that Disney considered Premium dates that no discount was available for. The rest had a $6 advance purchase discount available. A number of the dates with an advance purchase discount had an available AP/DVC discount.

they generally wait until the tickets start selling before offering DVC discounts.

not expecting any discounts until June.

Based on the 2008 dates I saw, there were about 8 Non-Premium dates that didn't have an AP/DVC discount available.

Does anyone think the November 1st Party will be discounted since it's after Halloween? This is the night we are thinking about going.

If I project the 2008 dates that had a discount to this year, it looks like the night of October 18 will be a discounted night.

That is very good to know that it may be until June. We're going on September 25th and I'm quite sure that it will be a discounted night so I'll just keep on watching The DIS for news!

Has anyone purchased tickets in advance of the discounts being published and then received a refund?

Yes, for MVMCP last year. I believe the sales must not have been going as well as expected and long after May, 2008, there were more discount dates added for DVC members. It was a slight hassle but I took the tickets to Guest Relations at Epcot and a very nice CM there jumped through hoops for me to get the 5 tickets discounted. It was easier for those who had their tickets at "will call." They got discounts on their credit cards with just a phone call, I believe.

From talking with a CM this morning while ordering my tickets, there is NOT going to be a party on Nov. 1st. They've cut back on some of the dates. We were planning on going Oct. 29, but when I went to order, she said that there wasn't a party planned for that day. So we ended up getting tickets for the 27th. That's the last party before Halloween.

Here are the dates and prices according to allears.net

I just got off the phone with Member Services (MS) and they said that Disney has cut out some of the dates posted. She said that the WDW website isn't automatically updated like MS is.

These are the dates, according to MS, that the MNSSHP will be held:

*All of these dates will have the DVC Member discount*

Hope this helps.
