Any ideas when new Ipod Touch will come out?

My DD wants an Ipod Touch really bad. She's saved her money and now has enough, but can't decide if she should wait a little while and see if a newer version comes out. Apple doesn't usually tell when new things are going to come out right?

I don't know if Apple is releasing a new iPod touch this year. I keep hearing about the iPad mini coming out this fall. Prices starting at $200 I think. It's basically an iTouch but a tad bigger.

No, Apple likes to keep tight lipped about new releases and they generally don't give out info far in advance. However, EDS is early next month so in my opinion she might as well wait to see if they say anything then. After that I don't think there are any big shows for a while and she would be fairly safe in thinking they won't do anything until next holiday season.
