We are staying at asmu 12-19 and I would like to have a small (it is a value sized room!) christmas tree in the room-maybe a tabletop size. Any suggestions? I cannot spend a fortune, so I would welcome any ideas on lowcost florists. I could ship or take one, but I thought I would explore the boards for advice! Thanks!:santa:

Call Disney's main number (407-824-2222) and ask for the Disney Florist Shop. They will do fully decorated trees and will even have one in your room when you arrive. Also, they will ship it back to your home when you leave.

If you check out disneyflorist.com you may find some there. You can customize what they have, or so Ive heard

I think one of the catalogs like Land's End/Eddie Bauer/ll Bean has a tree you can ship.

Can you pack a small fake one?:santa:

Will you have a car? If so, just go to a Walgreen's or CVS (they are on every corner) and get a small one there. I got one all decorated with lights and all for about $10.

Here you can sort of see what we did.

i second Magickndm's suggestion. however if you won't have a car with you i would suggest:

get a small (table top) artificial tree at wal-mart before you leave. bring that sucker home and decorate it. box it back up and ship it to your resort. inform the resort that you will be pre-shiping a box there and they will hold it for you until you arrive. set that puppy up and enjoy.

either pitch it upon your return or box it back up and call UPS or FedEx for a pick up the day before you check out. ship it back home.

the combined shipping and tree cost may be less expensive than getting one from disney floral. any one have any idea how much one from them costs?

These trees are available at Days of Christmas at WDW for around $30. They are each about a foot tall.

I've moved this over to the Resorts board since it involves a tree for your room.. and not really so much about ThemeParks!

I saw very small trees in a box at the gift shop at CR. They were ready to use type trees. Cute!

We picked up one at Walmart that is 32 inches and fiberoptic and it was 14.99. Then we got some disney ornaments that are tiny for it along with some mini garland at the dollar store. It's small enough that it fits in our suitcase.

I checked out ordering one and wasn't willing to spend 150.00 on it when I only need it for this trip since we already have a good one for home.

Check out the dollar stores in your area for a small tree. Pick up some lights and ornaments for it too. I would have left mine except I was going to my brother's place who lives in Orlando, so I gave it to him. Not sure if he still haves it or not.

Thanks so much for all your great suggestions!! I will be driving, so I will probably go out and try to find a tree to take, or maybe one of those $30 ones at Disney would be ok. Thanks again everyone!

We're planning a trip during Christmas in 2008 (too far away  ) and I'll be ordering from Memories by Betsy (http://www.memoriesbybetsy.com). We ordered baskets from her this past August and were blown away by how beautiful they were.

She has pictures of some the Christmas trees (http://www.memoriesbybetsy.com/Memories_by_Betsy/Holiday.html) that she is offering this year and find the prices much more reasonable then other sites. I had thought about buying one locally and bringing it with us but I like the idea of just having it delivered to our room and being 'surprised' by it.

I also like the idea that it is small enough to bring back with us and being able to set up the same Christmas tree every year which will remind us of our trip.

Whatever your decide I'm sure it will be great. Christmas at the World is really a special time. Last time I felt like I was a kid again seeing the holiday as I saw it when I was a child.
