Any ideas how long the Electric Light Parade will be around?

Hi :) I'm currently planning our trip for 2017 but am a bit stuck on when to come. I was hoping to come in April but it looks like a lot of the attractions relating to ROA won't reopen until the summer, so I want to wait until they reopen, but we also want to see the Electric Light Parade (ELP). I was thinking maybe October/November to ensure the attractions have reopened but ELP says for a limited time. Does anyone know when ELP will end ... or an actual date that Fantasmic etc will start again? Or have any recommendations for dates.
Thanks for your help.

Keep in mind that PtN is going to be back this summer, too. If you miss MSEP, it's not the end of the world since PtN is amazing.

My guess is they are only calling a limited engagement in case it doens't draw in people like they think it will but from what I heard on refurbing it and getting it perfect and now teh floatilla and this commercial.. it's not a couple months and done but just in case, it's not a fail if they pull it and it does flop.

btw, cool commercial and all the props from past attractions in it.. and love the 1 light goes out they all go out joke.

edit: I hate to say it but I had no plans to head to DL and my daughters never been, I know this parade inside and out being stolen by WDW for so long.. I'm really tempted to quickly go out just to see it where it started...

Has Disney announced this officially, or is this still rumor?
I love both parades. One is a nostalgic favorite, and one is a new favorite!

Paint the Night has no official announcements.

The rumors are it is in refurb and will return at a later date.

As mentioned above, Disney wants to look at attendance, how many local tickets did it sell (The rumor is a new SoCal special starts Monday), and see if they want to keep it going past June.

Also, if Paint the Night is going under refurb, how that refurb is going. (Will it be completed in time)

One marketing angle has PtN returning when Fantasmic! and all the Rivers of America stuff reopens, as the late summer promo.

We know there is a big push for Guardians of the Galaxy new attraction to open in May, to match up with the movie premiere, and that a lot of marketing funds will go to both projects (film and ride).

So things are in flux, and nothing has been decided yet....

I hadn't thought about PtN, but I have seen Fantasmic and would love to see ELP so I think we'll try to get organised to go in April/May. I wouldn't want to put if off just in case they extend it, then they don't and we miss out. We'll probably be over again when Star Wars opens so can see Fantasmic then. Thanks everyone :)

So if MSEP goes away on the 18th....I assume if they were going to switch to PTN, it would take a while to swap out the floats, right? So does that mean those of us who arrive in late June will be left high and dry with no nighttime parade??

Do you think prices are going up on Sunday/Monday in conjunction with the new special?

From November 26, 1996 to May 21, 2015 there was no night parade in DL. We weren't high and dry, we just watched the daytime parade. If they don't replace MSEP immediately or there's a gap, there's precedent for having just 1 night time show (fireworks) in DL.

So what are the chances that they speed things up in time for May 13 Fantasmic! debut for the 25 year anniversary?? I mean it ONLY makes sense--from a marketing perspective-- to do it this way.

None, they are afraid they won't make the July return and have to push it to August....

Thanks everyone. We've booked for May We'll just have to go back another time to see Fantasmic and hopefully PtN :mickeyjum Tell Mickey we'll see him soon!
