Hi - Just curious. Looking to fly President's Week and am holding out for JetBlue and Southwest to open up out of the Northeast. Hoping I can get flights for less than $400!!! a person from either BOS, BDL or PVD to MCO. The prices seem to drop a little bit when these airlines release flights. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!!

They still haven't opened up most of January yet. I'm waiting for mid-February, from BOS to MCO as well. I'd like to think that we could do better than $400 r/t, but we'll see. The gasoline prices may simply make that no longer possible.

I'm waiting with you here. We didn't find anything reasonable in a non-stop when the fares opened up on Delta (331 days), and only now have they dropped under $600 rount-trip non-stop, and that's only for the crack o'dawn. I've been considering blowing a bunch of Delta SkyMiles, but am still hoping something decent comes out of JetBlue before resorting to that. I have never paid more than $600 r-t n-s, even for school vacation, so the new era of expesive flights is taking some getting used to.

I am guessing they open up in August or September, but I am watching every couple of days to see if anything opens up (DW thinks I'm loopy, but appreciates the decent fares for our ideal flight times)

Same here. Looking for the first weekend in Feb, which may be a bit cheaper since it's before Presidents' Day week. Hoping to take ds down for his birthday again, and grandma will come along too!

I'm watching too, for the end of February. I got a decent one-way for Delta, from BOS-RSW for the 14th. $120 for one-way. For school vacation week, I am very happy with this. I just have to break it to my parents that we may not be leaving :rotfl: :lmao: unless I can find a decent flight home.

I'm waiting for jetblue or allegiant to open up. We flew Allegiant last Feb with very good results for 225 per person r/t Feb vacation week. However, because they don't fly on Saturdays, and I can't take Friday off (school teacher-BIG no-no!) we have to travel Sunday to Sunday. DH loves them because of the 2x2 seating configuration on one side of the plane. We like sitting one kid in front of the other, AND not having to squish in next to a stranger. I feel like I miss 1+ days of vacation though, not being able to travel on Saturday.

For anyone flying Presidents week, just look at JB fares for Christmas week and you will have a pretty good idea. JB never has given seats away over holiday periods, and with fuel up and seats down they are not going to start now. Figure 225-250 each way during that period.

I know - just the idea of paying over $400 to Orlando kills me. It's cheaper to fly to California.

Last year - when everyone said it was going to be so expensive we were able to fly Song for $89 each way direct from Boston for President's week....and that was direct. They had like what seemed a one hour window that this fare was available so I grabbed it. But this time it's just ridiculous. No I'm hoping for $300!

I do think that we will still be able to find something semi-reasonable once JetBlue, Southwest and Allegiant open up. One lucky thing for us is that we can fly out of so many airports since we are in Central Mass. We can choose from BOS,PVD,BDL, Manchester and even the New York and NJ airports if necessary. So I guess we should all just keep thinking positive thoughts on pricing, right?

I'll be sure to post as soon as I hear anything opening up as I'm sure will everyone.

Happy planning!

Was this from Portsmouth? We were planning on flying home on a Saturday. Oh well, we may need to come home a day later if they have a good price.

It was Worcester, but I think Portsmouth flies the same days, just later times. In fact, after I posted, I checked friday flight times out of Portsmouth, and it's 6:50pm!! DH and the kids can pick me up at work in Sudbury, and we can head straight to NH. AND the return flight is Sunday!!! Of course landing at 6pm and having to drive over an hour home might be a problem, but I'm willing to deal with it if we can get decent prices.

I on the watch too. Most likely we will do a direct down, either Airtran from ROC or SW from BUF. I don't mind doing a connecting flight back since we have some time and don't mind lost luggage in that direction. If the direct option on the way back isn't a good option then I'm lookin at JB (B6)

I've also been waiting and checking everyday from NY to MCO. I can't believe the fares! I know we'll pay more for Pres. week but this is ridiculous.

I am hoping to go the week after President's day vacation and I am also finding fares around $369 on the average. Last year, I paid $128 RT per person so this would be $800+ more! I realize I am probably not going to find the deal I did last year but was hoping for $200-225. I prefer to fly out of MHT but will be checking out Allegiant out of Portsmouth too. Keeping fingers crossed for Southwest or Allegiant now I guess. Good luck to everyone in finding a decent fare you can live with. I have been checking quite a bit so if I happen to find something decent you will all be the first to know. Also if SW or Allegiant opens its schedule, I will be checking in here and will post unless someone else already has. Crazy what us Northeasterners will do to get to Disney in February.
