Any idea what's happening October 17/18?

It's our last night there, and the hotel costs are ridiculous. Just for the night of the 17th. Is it due to a conference? Any ideas? All other nights are reasonably priced, then that night triples in price!

Utah schools Fall Break - UEA - is the 17th and 18th. Many people say that UEA stands for Utahns Exodus to Anaheim.

I agree that it is the Produce Conference. Hotels have been booked for a long time or are at outrageous prices. I think it is way too booked out of proportion to other weekends in October to be the parties. It might be some UEA crowds, but this produce convention is legit big.

We are in Southern California and tried to book that weekend since my mom will be here. Ridiculous. So we are taking the kids out of school Tuesday and Wednesday and got a pretty good rate at the DLH under the Disney visa cardholder discount. But when I booked, DCH and DLH were completely booked for Thursday on, except for the uber expensive suites etc.

Woods/Courtyard view rooms opened up at GCH for 10/18-10/21, which is our trip. I even got the winter sale rate for Sunday night. Off to cancel the DTD view room I had booked when nothing else was available.
