Starting last night, I began having pain in my lower abdomen. It was sometimes a shooting pain but mostly it was more of a pressure pain where it felt like someone was pressing down on my stomach and lower lungs. It is incredibly painful and kept me up most of the night as it hurt to lie down and also i have been having pain when i breath and have felt like i wasn't getting enough air when i would take a breath.

Any idea what this could be?

go to the school infirmary.......it could be nothing and then it could be something.......never take a chance........
and your mom would yell at you too........GOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Maybe a gall bladder attack?

I had my first attack when I was pregnant with my son, my doctor said "oh it's just the baby pressing against your rib cage"

I had a couple more while I was pregnant so just endured them.

Had another one AFTER he was born, this time really severe, so I was sent for tests, turned out I had gall stones so had my gall bladder removed, no more problems. :)

Yeah I am going to head to health services after my first class (If i even make it through my first class). I know I am probably just overreacting but I have a low pain tolerance and anything pretty much scares me after my surgery.
BEsides it is becoming unbearable between the pain and the breating.

Is the pain mainly on your right side? What you've described sounds like gall bladder pain. I hope everything turns out ok, and I agree, please get yourself to the health office ASAP.

It started last night on my right side and now it is more on my left but it can be felt on all sides.
It is just like constant pain.
I honestly don't think that I am gonna make it through my first class.

Alright I am not going to my first class and heading right to Health Services because it has gotten a lot worse to the point where I could vomit from the pain.

I just wanted to thank y'all for your concern and when I hear anything I will update you guys :)

Sorry to hear you are hurting, Norah, and glad to see you are heading to the Health Services. Hope it is nothing, looking for an update later.

Sorry to hear your in so much pain but glad you are going straight to your health services to get it checked out. :(

((((((hugs))))))

Please let us know when you find out something.Prayers for you.

Norah, glad you're going to get it checked out ASAP at Health Services. If you're in that much pain, you wouldn't learn anything in your class anyway!

I'll keep you in my prayers and will hope for a positive update soon. :sunny:

Norah, sorry to hear you are in so much pain :( I hope that this isn't anything serious

I hope they are able to help you!! I too suffered from Gall Bladder attacks that started when I was in college. hope you are feeling better soon Norah.

Norah, I'm glad you're getting it checked. It didn't sound good at all. I hope it's nothing serious.

Well they were worried it may have been stones, or a bad reaction to the UTI i had 2 weeks ago but what they are leaning towards (still unsure) is Irritable Bowel.

Oh goodie...

Norah, when I was in college, I got costochronditis. The pain was more in my ribcage area but it felt like a heart attack. I couldn't take a deep breath It was an inflamation of the cartilidge of my rib cage caused by either infection or injury. Ibuprofen did the trick.

Here's hoping your pain is easily lessened.

Well, that's not terrific news, but hey, it could have been a lot worse I guess. At least IBS is something you can live with. Thanks for gettting back to us. Feel better.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, but IBS is treatable, so you're doing the right thing by seeking help. Best of luck.:D

Hmmmm.. I don't know.. I've suffered from IBS for years and years and it doesn't sound like IBS to me..

If it continues - or gets worse - could you go to an ER?

Hope you feel better soon!
