I thought fall fantasy rates were usually announced by the end of July in previous years & I recieved info. about fall fantasy at the resorts....so....does this mean they may be passing on it this year on DCL??

The reason I ask is that I was quoted $2500 for the 4 day on Nov. 2 or 3?? And I recall paying as much for our 7 day cruises these last two years with the fall fantasy

Another reason I think they may not be doing it is that when I requested a cat. 7 for the 4 day I was told that all cat. 6's were sold out & since we are a party of four the cheapest verandah we could get would be a cat. 5. So if the 7 day is as booked as the 4 day is for that week...there is no reason for them to even run the fall fantasy deal.

OK...all that just to ask if anyone "knows" if they will be having that package this year?? LOL

Thank you all !!

I was told that there would be no Fall Fantasy discount, like there was last year, but that "selected sailings for the fall" had been repriced by DCL. I was told this in January of 2002 by Dreams Unlimited who I booked through. I booked way back in October of 2001 for September of 2002. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Just as an afterthought.....since you've cruised with DCL before, did you try to get the Castaway Club discount??

Is there a Castaway Club discount? I thought that they did away with the stateroom credit (unless you book onboard). The only perk seems to be the stateroom gift. The Castaway Club line at the port is usually longer than many of the regular lines. If you get a quote from the DCL website, the price will be the same whether you enter your CC # or not.

I think you're correct about the Fall Fantasy. I seem to remember the same thing. When it was announced that the fall cruises were re-priced, I got a quote for a fall 7-night which was about the same as I paid last fall using the Fall Fantasy booking code.

I received my Castaway membership # the other day and
e-mailed my TA at Dreams. My first cruise was the 3 day Wonder June 2002, but because I booked my 7 day Eastern for Sept 6, 2003 before DCL changed the onboard credit "rules", I received an e-mail from Dreams Unlimited telling me I DID have the $200 onboard credit!! Nice surprise! Just LOVE DU!!!

As others have stated, DCL has done away with the Fall Fantasy promotion. Instead, they increased the early booking savings on fall cruises earlier this year. There is no promotion code to ask for, book early for the best savings. :)

I am eternally hopeful that they will have discount promotions in the Fall and Winter again, but I don't see any evidence yet.

This week, my Disney stock took another dive lower because they announced in the Quarterly Earnings Report that Theme Park visitation was down by 10% from the same period last year. Travel in general is also at lower than hoped for levels, so I would think that discounts should be available, but again, not yet.

On the negative side for possible discounts, the Disney Wonder will have high occupancy rates this Fall. A lot of cabins will be filled on the 3 day with people using the $99 voucher that was offered as a reward for taking a 4 or 7 day cruise this past January. I would also expect that the 4 day cruise would get some of the people that couldn't find a good date on the 3 day.

The Voucher Cruises start on September 5 and end on December 19th, with a couple dates blocked out, like Thanksgiving.

hope that helps

I'm also keeping an eye out for some unannounced discounts due to the drop in attendance.........you never know:rolleyes:

The ships, especially the Magic, are running at pretty high occupancies, and as Al pointed out, other promotions were run post 9/11 to help the Wonder occupancy. Don't count on any other discounts this year, they don't need to discount if the ships are nearly full.
