My partner's 50th Birthday is rapidly approaching and she is hinting that she would like an I-Pod touch. I really don't know much about them....and want to make an informed decision before I buy one.

I know they come in three sizes. 8 mb, 16 mb and 32 mb. Which one do you have and why did you choose that one?

What do you use yours for besides music?

What applications can you get for it?

Inquiring minds NEED to know.

Thanks in advance.

I have the 32G iTouch and I love it!!!! Besides music, I have shows, movies, audio books and podcasts on it. I also have tons of Apps. Many don't work outside the home though because you need internet for them.

I got a case for mine that has a stand on it so that when I fly I can have it sit on the tray table and I can easily watch a show or movie.

This website is very helpful http://www.ilounge.com/

I bought my iPod Touch in February and I really like it! I bought the 16GB size because it was in the middle (price-wise). It would have been an extra $100 for the 32GB. I also hardly filled my 4GB iPod nano with music (I like to switch up the music selection a lot) so I figured that 16GB would be plenty for me. I have about 700 songs, 8 movies, about 18 applications (plus some e-books) that I have downloaded and still have 6.5 GB of space left.

I use mine for the wi-fi internet (for email), music, applications and movies (in that order). We have wi-fi at work so it is great for that. There are tons of applications that you can get for it - free and paid. So far, I have refused to pay for any but some of the free ones that I have include Stanza (an e-book reader, I can then download e-books to read), Sudoku, Urbanspoon (a restaurant finder), ScoreMobile (a sports app with up-to-date scores for all major sporting events), Facebook, NowPlaying (an app for movie locations and times), TimmyMe (an app to locate the 5 nearest Tim Hortons to your current location) plus more. Most of the above apps require the iPod to connected to the internet to use but a lot of the games do not.

I love it! My DH was a little hesitant about the price but after he saw how handy it was in Australia (for email and GoogleMaps), he has had a change of heart. I hope that this has helped!

Speaking of book readers, I got the Kindle app for free and it is pretty cool. I went to the amazon.com site and found a bunch of free books and they were sent instantly to my ipod.
