Any Husbands here do all the planning?

I'm the planning husband too. I do all the planning for our vacations with the families input. Actually on the phone with member services right now. :earsboy:

Add another one. Once we have a time to go, I start booking the rooms, ADR's and FP+. Then I create a detailed itinerary and run it by DW. Often I will switch our days at certain parks or restaurants we want to go to if an ADR opens then present the new plan to her. I work from home so I can easily do these things. When I used to work out of the home and DW was a stay at home mom she did all the planning. We have a number of roles that have changed over the years with me working from home, but my favorite switch has been getting to constantly plan our trips and doing the research related to them.

We have done this over the years as well, when we started out I was a stay at home mum and did all the cooking. When we had our third my career took off and my husband quit work as two careers was way too much. Now we are expats on my job and my husband has taken over all the cooking, cleaning and ironing but he won't take on the WDW planning. Thats ok as I'd have a panic attack now if he asked me to cook.

I am another one does the planning, I work from home and plan the vacations. Of course she gets the final approval. At first she planned our vacations but she is a workaholic and we never went anywhere! So after all the kids went off on their own, I took over our vacationing, first thing was to buy a DVC to force her to vacation (i knew she loved Disney), second, third, and forth was to add on to DVC, then buy a NOLA timeshare that trades well with RCI. Best decision I ever made was to buy that "surprised her" first DVC. Anyway, from then on I did the vacation planning for us!

Not only do I own Disney planning (and timeshare usage generally), I also make dinner nightly.

I am, however, forbidden from doing anyone else's laundry. Apparently, I am not reliable in spotting.
You are in the same boat as I am, what did you do, wash the dry clean only clothes?

99.99% of our trips are done by me....LoL

Prior to us getting married back in 97' I'd never gone before so she did all the necessary arrangements for that trip, but it didn't take long for the bug to bite me....

Now the kids have some input on where we stay and stuff....:grouphug:

Oh yea... Forgot to add....For some reason I also enjoy doing the laundry, while the DW has the kids either by the pool, or @ Community Hall. * We still utilize the studios...(for now)

I'm also a planning husband. My wife usually tells me when she wants to go and I take it from there. I don't mind it and honestly enjoy it. I'm currently planning a trip with my entire family (parents, siblings and their families). Most of them are first timers and have left it all to me. This is probably the first time I'm stressed out about trip planning as I want to make sure they enjoy themselves.

I know it's mostly wives or so it seems.
Little different in my family. I do all the planning and just run it by the wife to make sure there will be no complaining. She likes Disney World a lot but it helps to make sure everyone is on board. Any other guys in my boat?

I do all the planing and wife just comes along for the ride.

If I left the planning to my wife, we would end up at SSR every trip--- or OKW if we were lucky...

Well we aren't married yet and I do all the planning but in her defense last year when I proposed was her first trip
She really didn't understand all the planning I did till we got there
For this year she has thrown her 2 cents in a few times with the plan

I never really gave it a lot of thought, but guess I do most of the planning too. Like others have said, I run things by my wife and sometimes DS and DD(when she goes). I tend to be the one who comes up with the idea of when to go, then look at pts. available to determine where to stay. I figure which days are best to visit which park, throw out ideas about restaurants, etc. But I enjoy doing it!

I take care of it as well. It is just easier that way. Its a little trickier with DVC as everything has to be booked separately (Room, tickets, DME, airfare). We discuss where we want to eat and then go from there. I then surprise her when we get there as she forgot what she choose for dining and on what days. I also keep the emails in their own folder for ease and proof as I don't think she would do that. Has worked well for our last several trips.

Normally I do all of the planning for our family of seven, but for our upcoming trip, I let my 12 year old daughter do everything. She decided on the resort, made all of the reservations online, DVC, ADR, FP+, ME, etc. Anything she could do online, she did.

She also decreed that some of us were driving and some were flying. Since I was using a combination of points and cash for the flights, I made those instead of her. She told me the dates and times she wanted and I proceeded to make the reservations. A few days later she asked me if I had made them and I told her yes and then pulled them up on my iPad to show her. She looked at them for about three seconds, then looked at me, and with disgust in her voice, said,

"You had one job."

I could tell by her tone that I had screwed something up. I took a quick look and noticed it too - she wasn't traveling from Buffalo to Orlando, she was going from Orlando to Buffalo. Somehow I had reversed the directions. I told her not to worry, I could fix it. A couple of phone calls to Southwest and some extra cash later and I had some times she could live with. Sure it may have cost me some money and perhaps a little respect from my daughter, but I learned a very important lesson - if it's really important and absolutely has to be done correctly, just let the 12 year old do it.

I do all the vacation planning in my house from DVC to Aruba trips and any cruises we go on....My wife pretty much trusts me and lets me know if she ever wants to do something different or special... Really enjoy it

I do about 90% of the trip with about 10% input from her. But I book all the flights, rooms, tickets, and all reservations. She just tells me if there is a ride she wants to go on or a place she wants to eat. I put it all in a spreadsheet and she gives final approval. I think she just likes to sit back and enjoy the ride of Disney.

I am impressed with all the husbands that do all the planning!! Kudos to you! My husband has done planning for other trips, but Disney is a different beast and the logistics of all the details is a bit overwhelming. It just so happens that i am on the computer a lot for work, so some of my time is spent researching/planning our trip. He doesn't have as much time but does the research on different restaurants/attractions and gives me ideas of what to include -- I guess it is a bit of a joint effort. I think planning is way too much fun to give it up!!!

I am a planning husband too. I get input on food choices and when I have narrowed hotels down to 2 or 3 available but I do all the planning.

Damn right I do, and the joke my wife tells our friends is that I'm so meticulous with the planning that everyone knows when they can even go to the bathroom lol.
