Any Husbands here do all the planning?

I do all the plannying and everything... but wife is the tour guide. After all these years I still don't know my way around the parks. :-)

I do all the planning with her consent! I'm a travel agent that specializes in Disney Travel but my wife gets final approval of everything.
We've been enough times that I know what she prefers and what she doesn't lie so we are good!

I do all the planning. If I died, my wife would be lost. I'm sure the kids would step in and take over.

This thread is hilarious! I'm glad that there are more Disney dads out there!

I have a spreadsheet to manage our points (because I like to project re: future trips whereas my wife thinks I'm nuts!) and love long term planning. My wife would much rather make quick decisions and will leave the planning (my words)/obsessing (her words) to me. She is very much interested in resort availability at 7.03 months (7 months plus one day) but not so much at 9 months. And she's very interested in restaurant choices at 181 days but not so much at 200 days.

I do the planning, my wife is the approver of my choices. I do discuss with her beforehand to incorporate her thoughts. I always have enjoyed planning all of our vacations.

I do the planning. Basics I run by the wife, when and how long, but I book the resort and work on room requests. I pick out the parks for each day, get FP+ and set up any TouringPlans.

Me. DW has no idea how these trips get planned. In fact she just wakes up in the morning and says "where we going today and what are we going to do". I do clear the dates with her of course. I have a very detailed spreadsheet that keeps track of all our past, present and future trips and our three contracts as well as our annual dues. I have trips planned out for three years in advance.

I do all of our planning. The first time or two, my wife thought I was nuts. But when she saw how perfectly our trips go, she was all for it. I'm pretty intense: I've got a spreadsheet I used to keep track of everything, I'm constantly gathering info, making reservations, etc. I've only had ONE time where I tried to book a resort at 7 months and couldn't do it (VGC). We decided to bank the points and went to VGF the following year instead, and she loved it, so that worked out. But I'm convinced that with such a small point contract, my vigilance in planning is the only reason why we can make it work.

I just made our reservations for Aulani in April. We have a DD now, and she'll be just over a year old when we go. I managed to work some of my own special magic and we'll be flying First Class (for less than the cost of coach!), my wife's first First Class experience!

Kudos to all of you hubbies! I hope spouses of all the Disney planning husbands AND wives appreciate how these trips somehow 'magically' happen!

Yes I do all the planning, the family just turn up.
I actually love doing it :)

After 35 of going to WDW I still do all the planning, although my wife will now look at the restaurants that we are dining at and express interest.

I plan everything, which is odd because the only thing I plan in life are college football saturdays and vacations, everything else she handles.

Right here! I do everything related to the trip. If I ask dw for input, I get the classic "why ask me, you're gonna do whatever you want anyway!"
The only requests I get from dw is at least one BOG lunch, a trip to see the horses at fw and no akv stays. Pretty much everything else is up to me. I'm sure as dd5 gets older this will all change lol.

That would be me. I get the 2-3 resorts she wants to stay at, # of days, handful of places to eat. It doesn't stop with Disney though. I'm the family trip planner for all adventures, big and small.

Great thread!

I (husband) am the planner. I keep her informed but if I don't do it, it would not get done. Not that she doesn't approve or agree, she just won't do it. Case in point - Reservations at 12:01 AM for a Platinum Member cruise reservations at 120 days out????? No way unless I make the ressies for a cabana or Remy or Palo.

I don't mind, its fun and challenging to get what you want. Unappreciated?, yes. Are there things she does that are unappreciated? yes.

I do all the planning too. My wife is an international traveler and does enough planning in her daily life. She was the one that booked our 1st cruise (we have only done DCL) and she used a Disney specific TA that was recommended to us. It was close to being a big mess (lack of communication and weather delays sending cruise docs) so I vowed to do it on our own in the future. I just landed us a cabana on SB, so I think I am doing a pretty good job.

Yes I do all the Disney planning and I am the one off by myself at the parks well past when the wife and little ones go to bed.

This sounds like me! (Except my wife puts the info I give her into the spreadsheet.) I try to get input from the family, but all I get is: "Yeah, that sounds good", "Sure, whatever you think is best" or "Do whatever, as long as we stay at BLT with a TPV at some point." It is nice to know I'm good for something!
