Hotels used to have shuttles that took guests to, and from, Disneyland. It seems like they have all gone away. Now it is the ART system that people seem to use. Does anyone know of any hotels that still have a shuttle? We used to stay at the hilton, growing up, and used their own shuttle service. That is now gone. To me, it is usually worth staying onsite, so that we can walk right up. To keep cost down, I wouldn't mind staying off site if they had a shuttle system. I'd rather avoid using the ART.

MOST hotels nearby use the ART but some have a hotel shuttle. It seems to be the higher end properties or those that are not in good locations for the ART.

I did a little poking around, most of the "resort" hotels are required to use the ART to reduce pollution. Candy Cane and the "old" Sheraton were grandfathered (according to what I read). Hotels outside the "resort" area may have their own shuttle.

Candy Cane Inn has a shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. But aside from that, the location is quite walkable. I'd say 8-10 minutes to bag check.

Oh, that's interesting. So they got rid of the shuttles for pollution reasons. I was wondering why. It's so convenient having the shuttle right at the hotel. Never used the ART. I've read very mixed reviews.

The "old Sheraton" (aka the Sheraton Anaheim) is now called the Majestic Garden Hotel. The new management kept the private shuttle which runs every half hour.

Days inn has a shuttle that runs every hour. Not to sure id stay there but its cheap 60+ a night and a free shuttle and breakfast so its always on the If I had to downgrade list.

The Hyatt is in Garden Grove so it doesn't fall under Anaheim's ART rules.

The ART is pretty good, actually. If every Anaheim hotel were allowed to have their own shuttle, can you imagine how crazy Harbor Blvd. would be?

I thought that the ART service was pretty good, too. Cheap week long passes, but we bought day passes for 5.00 per adult. We used ART to get to Medieval Times one trip and Knot's one trip. Both times it was just us and one other family on board. It is probably much busier around Disneyland and the local hotels. It was hard to get a straight answer about pick up times and stop locations going the opposite direction, but the information was pretty self explanatory so no worries. There are also cabs everywhere if need be, one even stopped to offer his services while we were waiting for the ART after Medieval Times. It had been a bit of a wait and we almost took him up on it, but the ART showed up 5 minutes later.

If this is the Days Inn on Ball Rd. the "Shuttle" is a gamble. We were told it ran every half hour, but an hour was more the reality. We stayed there last Sept. and decided to use the shuttle our last night there (we had free parking with our park tix, thanks AAA!, decided to make use of it the other days). The drop off was alright but getting picked up after park closing was nearly impossible. Our shuttle group waited nearly 45 minutes, plus a phone call to see where it was, before the van showed up. I brought this up with the front desk when we checked out the next morning and was told the shuttle driver was "not all there" :scared:. Skipped the breakfast so can't comment about it. The hotel was good for sleeping, but that's about all; it gave off the feel like drug transactions took place there. Just a word of caution though; if you do wait for a shuttle make sure you use the restroom before heading out. Learned that lesson the hard way :o.

um i'm not sure if that's the one but might be. It wasn't best reviewed just letting them know another cheap place with a shuttle but I have heard some say you can have better luck walking.

We have only had issues with one specific ART route. Overall, we like ART. Especially if you are at a hotel with a couple of stops. Example Residence Inn, where you can pick up one bus at the front of the motel or a second bus at the back of the motel. We used the Hilton shuttle prior to ART also. If we aren't at the DIsneyland Hotel, we are at either Residence Inn, the Hilton, or Candy Cane Inn. If you stay at the Hilton, you can also walk to the Toy STory Lot and catch the Toy Story bus.

I wasn't complaining, and appreciated your review on the shuttle. not sure how it came off I was.

The more stops you have before your stop, the worse the ART gets. Sometimes it will fill up on the initial stops and then bypass all of the remaining stops. I've used the ART when it worked great and the next day, at the same stop and time, it was suppose to show but it never did. I called the people at ART and they were not much help. That was the last time I ever depended on the ART. It is hit or miss.

When we stayed at Desert Palms we could have gotten an ART shuttle right near the front of the hotel which went a few places before going to the park. Or we could walk next door which was a 7/11 on a corner then cross Harbor BLVD. We could take any ART that stopped and Disney was the next stop which was really close. Coming back we took the ART one stop right near the front of our hotel just a few minute drive. We also walked many times which was about a 10 minute walk with no big streets to cross since we were on the same side of Harbor as the park entrance. We always got a seat and never waited more than a few minutes for the ART Shuttle when we did take it.

Embassy Suites South has a shuttle. They charge $5 a day. We found it reliable and fine for our needs. We especially like an Embassy Suites for the bigger rooms and free breakfast.

What worries me about the ART is how many stops they make before getting to Disneyland, or back to the hotel. If we don't stay onsite, we would probably stay at the Hilton because we usually have Hilton honors points available for free stays. We have 6 yr old twins, so walking isn't the best option, especially after a long day. I can imagine how crazy it would be if all hotels had their own shuttles. I remember, back in the 90s, when all hotels did have their own shuttles. They truly were everywhere!

Candy Cane Inn's shuttle is super reliable. And it's a short walk, too, as PP said, if you miss it. The dedicated shuttle is one of many things we love about CCI!
