i have a BA in hotel/resort mgmt, going back for my masters in the same field.. hopefully i can get an MI at disney or get a nice mgmt position there

On another note, would you happen to know what the differences are as far as jobs and career for a BA degree vs. an AAS degree ???

i don't wanna run wdw, maybe one of the resorts lol.. i know in hospitality its not a book smart industry meaning you can work your way up, but certain positions require a bachelor's degree..such as corporate positions, and so forth..

This is my major (well will be when I leave CC) for lodging management.

So what type of job can you get with a BA or BS in this degree? I mean, I know I'll be working in hotels (hopefully Disney!) but what position do you usually start in?

And could I still work up to a high rank without a masters?

I know most big hotel chains offer management training to grads with a 4 yr degree. As an example I copied this from Starwood Hotels

Starwood offers a Management Training program for graduates that exposes them to the places, people and practices that will help set the tone for their success throughout their careers. Trainees concentrate in rooms, food and beverage, culinary, revenue management, finance or sales and rotate through other areas in the hotel to learn from leaders in some of the most successful Starwood hotels. The length of training varies from 6 to 18 months depending on discipline. At the completion of the training, each participant is placed into an assistant manager or manager position at the same hotel where they trained.

These opportunities are limited to current undergraduates attending school with work authorization in the United States only. Experienced, non-student candidates and those outside of the U.S. are invited to search for current career opportunities.

I will be moving up to auburn next week to start school, trandsferring from CC. My major is hotel and restuarant management, I am also hoping to work for disney. My main goal is to be a wedding planner down there but helping create the magic for resort guest is also something I could see myself doing.
