We were on the seven day Eastern, booked Palo for Tropical night since this was the movie night, no show to miss, just a movie you can see at home. The deck party does not start until late, so this worked well. (And we were not all that enamored with the deck parties anyway, plus the kids were sacked out well before the deck party started, wore them out on St Maarten.) We had PLAPLAP rotation, so we missed the Tropical night Parrot Cay rotation, but could have booked Palo late since we had early seating and we still could have seen both. Didn't get a flower lei though.
If you double dip the restaurants on another night you would miss your show. You could hope for a Disney Dreams matinee and book on that day. Check in early at the port and plot each rotation ahead of time. I had a schedule for each rotation. If you miss the variety show on the first night, those performers will be in the clubs until St Thomas and you can see them before. The performers in the last night variety show get on at St Thomas, so see them in the clubs on the second half of the cruise. We enjoyed Hercules, Dreams and Morty very much and would not have wanted to miss those. Not sure when they change performers on the Western. We got to the reservations as soon as they started and had our choice of most times and days for Palo.
