So yesterday, about 5 hours before I was having a houseful of company for my son's birthday, I discover that the birthday boy (3) has peed through his diaper onto my couch while he was sleeping.
The fact that he took a nap at all is shocking, but I figured, "great, let him sleep while I clean."
Anyway, the problem is I had my couches professionally cleaned by Sears last summer and scotchguarded. I know you're not supposed to use any sort of cleaning solution on it b/c it takes off the scotchguard. My friend said I could use part water/part baking soda to neutralize the odor. I did that, along with febreeze and lysol, but I still faintly smell it, and am skeeved. I wanted to wait until later in the year to have them professionally cleaned again b/c it's so expensive, $200 +, so was looking for interim advice, if there is any...
Other than the obvious, don't let the kid fall asleep on the furniture after he's drank a lot and not gone to the bathroom.
And, luckily, no one sat on that part of the couch
!
