What was a good (or great) graduation gift you received? (besides $$$, of course). We are invited to a party for my cousin's DS, and need some ideas.
Thanks

My DD got some great stuff (including $$). She got a couple of "Linens n' Things" gift certificates...she can use them to buy that Natica (sp)comforter she's had her eye on! Any gift certificate is nice....Barnes and Noble...Borders...Staples...and if you know of the college he'll be going to, buy a shirt from there with a bookstore gift card to use in September.

I bought both DD and her best friend the Dr. Seuss book-Oh, the places you'll go. Got the collectors edition at Borders. That was a fun gift.

One of my friends got what I think is one of the best gifts EVER!

A stand-up hamper (takes of less space), filled with all sorts of necessities...

Detergent and Fabric Softener/Dryer sheets
Clorox Wipes
Downy Wrinkle Release
Dryel
Towels
Dishes/Paper Plates & Silverware
Kleenex
Paper Towels
Table Top Ironing Board/Iron
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Soap
Shampoo/Conditioner
Basket for Carrying Toiletries
Shave Gel
Lotion
Shower Shoes (cheap! Gap has some on sale right now!)
Itty Bitty Book Light
Pens
Pencils
Highlighers
etc. etc. etc.

Anything else you can think of goes well with this.

I like this gift because ultimately you decide its value and it shows more thought than a gift card while getting them things they would need to buy anyway.

Good luck!

I was going to say that I liked my gift card to a bookstore, but I like that idea!

SO TRUE! And they may not appreciate it now but come September they'll LOVE you if you get them rolls of quarters. It's godsent ;)

Find out if their school bookstore is a Barnes and Noble. Mine is, and it accepts their giftcards, which is always great.

This isn't the most fun gift in the world, but it's perfect for someone starting college.

I'm in my last year of undergrad and I even want one!

I gave my niece a few days at WDW and a 4 day cruise.....I got a great vacation and a rose at her graduation.....brat....she made me cry!! :(
