Any guests arriving November 1 to 30 receive FP+ testing invites?

So dos anyone think when this 'goes live' will we still get a KTTW card in the beginning or will they put a stop to that immediately to stop the double dipping?

I can see where Disney would be ready to go live with all the resorts by Nov 1st. But I can't see that it would mean that the non-resort park guests would be included in that. In fact, I'm not even sure what the exact plan is for non-resort park guests.

I also have trouble imagining that Disney would allow non-resort guests to be able to pull all the fp's they wanted while restricting resort guests to three fp+'s a day. It just isn't logical to "punish" resort guests who use MB's. :confused3

I think that people with MB's will get to pull fp's as long as people without MB's can do it.

:thumbsup2 I sure hope you are right! We are going Nov 16th and hoping to double dip!:cheer2:

I doubt the double dipping will even work by Oct. 1st. I have heard many reports now that the KTTW back-up cards wont give regular FP if they were not put through the machine to enter the park (because the MagicBand was used). Although I have now heard that once you use your FP+'s, you are able to reserve more, even at a different park (3 in AK in morning, 3 more at MK in evening). I think more details about FP+ and how the final version will look will start to appear in the next few weeks.

I hope we get definitive news on what will happen. Getting to double dip or get extra Fasspass+'s after the first ones are used (and do you use all 3 and get more? Or once you use one can you get another?) as that will totally change my strategy on what to get/times, etc.

I don't think we'll see the "final" version ever. They tweaked the regular fast pass system the entire time it was in existence. THe machines didn't always know when a ticket was scanned up front and let you use any ticket or card you had in your pocket to get a fastpass. The different rides didn't always speak to each other so you could get a second fastpass even when the ticket said you couldn't. You used to be able to go anytime after your window. For (what seemed like) years the machines where unlocked and they had a button on the back or under a hinged door that people could just press and never even put a ticket in. The window before you could get another fast pass varied. Etc. Etc.

No reason they can't/wont tweak FP+ until it's time to pull it out and replace it too.

So what rolls out on "resort go live day" might not be the same when "annual pass go live day" comes in a few months, which may not be the same as when offsite guests go live themselves. And they might then tweak it next summer. Next Christmas. Next whatever....

with more modern technology like this being all server based, they could tweak it all the time. Someone even suggested they might do things like "october is slow, get free dining and book 6 fast passes each day in advance if you book now" - seems plausible.

So I wouldn't be shocked if "the rules" are constantly changing.

I hope so, too. ::yes:: I am getting tired of all this guessing and speculating on what will happen and how it will all work. I just wish Disney would announce their plans and the dates. If they want to roll it out soon then they need to announce it - soon.

I think it's fun to guess and speculate about what may happen... but I remember that it is just that: guessing!
Nobody knows for sure yet what's really going to happen. I'm excited for my trip, and no matter what the fastpass situation is, I'll make the best of it. :)

I think you are right. I think they will always be making tweaks to it based on feedback and how it is going.

I just want to know what I am going to get, so that we can decide whether to cancel or go on the trip. Poop or get off the pot.

I spoke to a CM last week about this and she said she could not see ANY way WDW would be able to have a full rollout by November. She was firm on that, but really, who can say?

If I get FP+ and can pull regular FP, that is a bonus. If I can only get 3 FP+, that is a lesser vacation and we'll just wait and go to Universal this summer.

I would gladly give up the regular fast pass system for FP+

For me I hate running to the big attractions (TSM anyone?) first thing AM . Having to get FP for all the big ones early. Last time all FP for TSM were GONE at 11:00. TT gone at 12:00.

Also to be able to coordinate my FP with where I am dining is another big plus!

Add to that the likely event that they WILL allow on site to use the regular system too? Its a big win win.

Problem is people like me are locked out because I have AP vouchers. I can't do any linking until I actually go and get my AP's the day we get there. It's Thanksgiving week, so all Fastpasses for any of the good things will be gone. If I get locked out of the old system, then I'm totally screwed.

You can link AP vouchers, type in the code or if that gives you problems (heard it's hit and miss with some people) you can scan the barcode with the phone app :)

I don't understand how this will work. I have one confirmation code for my families five annual passes. I have an email of the confirmation and there is no bar code. How can I enter them?

did you Oder the vouchers to be mailed to you? If so, when they arrive, each plastic voucher will have a bar code with a number below it. Just enter that number and voila! It's done!

The email confirmation numer is not a voucher. You need to get the voucher mailed to you or you may be booked as a 'will call' to get your AP's. If you are picking up your AP's directly at the guest services then you may not be getting a voucher. We had to pay an additional $25 to get our vouchers mailed to us. At first we said that we would pick them up on arrival and save the $25, but with linking to MDE to get advance FP+ we changed our minds and had them sent to us. It only took a few days for them to arrive.

DF and I have scanned our AP vouchers and it worked no problem. Mom and Dad tried there's and turns out the ones they bought at the Disney store were from 2005 and are too old to be linked. I think it depends on what type of vouchers they are.

I have to agree with this CM. Logistically, it would seem the natural next step for November is the full resort testing. I don't see how they can go from testing all of the resorts for just a few days at the end of October to fully implemented in November. BUT Disney has been known to do things that don't make sense before (uh, this whole process, anyone?). So who really knows? Not us, not the CMs, maybe not anyone!

Oh, and P.S., check-in on Nov. 1 here, still nothing on MDE.

I'm in the UK so don't get the little card things mailed to me. I ordered online so it comes with a link to a printable page with the barcode in the email so perhaps double check you don't have a link in your email too. However you can try with the confirmation code alone as it does work for some (though didn't with me).

All 5 passes will be linked to the one confirmation code. When you enter it for the first person then it'll know there are still 4 passes to be assigned. Assuming all members of your party are listed it your MDE account as Friends and Family then it should then let you select them for the remaining tickets and then it'll link everything.

Good luck!

Tried it, wouldn't work. Bought the vouchers in June before the price increase and had them mailed to me. Called IT and they said I had to wait until I get there.

Try scanning them. That is what I had to do for DS's AP voucher. You will need a smartphone and the MDE app. Under the Link Tickets section there is an option to scan the pass. It worked like a charm for me. Good luck!
