Any great deals on a decent laptop?

We are considering getting me one for Xmas, yipppee! We do have a regular computer and a work computer (I work from home by connecting to a terminal server). My problem is my office is in the basement, and I need mobility since I have a 2 year old, LOL. I am looking for something that could work with a wireless router so I can basically "see" the basement computer and work on it from upstairs. We don't need the best, or the newest to the market, or the teeniest. I remember a thread a month or so back about a code (maybe from Dell?) that allowed a person to get a laptop for 750....it is probably over... But, we are in the market, so any help would be much appreciated!

My husband just ordered me one from Dell today for Christmas. It was in the paper today for $699 but they said they could offer it today for $599. I wanted something that I could surf the internet on downstairs, our desktop is upstairs. it comes with a free printer and a wireless network card.
